Aren't They Proud of Themselves?
One of those was Don McBurney, a member of the Denver Bible Church, who grabbed a paper cup of water and rushed the police lines standing guard in the driveway. Three policemen wrestled him to the ground, cuffed his hands and forced him into the police van. He struggled, screaming, "Bring her water."

And Felos has police protection, absolutely crazy.

Re: Aren't They Proud of Themselves?
I think if I were one of the cops,I would be tempted to give these people an armed guard into her room.(I am not advocating violence here; such a guard would most likely not have to draw his weapon. Just having it would be enough...).
Of course, that would probably cost him his job. But how could you weigh one against the other, w/o realizing that you belonged on Terri's side.

Re: Aren't They Proud of Themselves?
we must be careful what we wish for
while it is fine for private citizens to protest, who wants to live in a place where the cops decide which of their orders they will carry out and which they will not?

I don't want to live in a place where cops carry out orders to help murder innocent people.

Roper: So now you’d give the Devil
benefit of law!
More: Yes. What would you do? Cut
a great road through the law to
get after the Devil?
Roper: I’d cut down every law in
England to do that!
More: Oh? And when the last law was
down, and the Devil turned round
on you — where would you hide,
Roper, the laws all being flat?

I'm not sure If St Thomas More actualy said this or if Bolt made it up but like I said be careful what you wish for

Re: Aren't They Proud of Themselves?
From the catechism:
Quote:
|
[2242 The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel. Refusing obedience to civil authorities, when their demands are contrary to those of an upright conscience, finds its justification in the distinction between serving God and serving the political community. "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."48 "We must obey God rather than men":49

If a government will not stop court sanctioned execution of an innocent person, looks like we are there.

There are more similaries between the government of Heny VIII and many officials today than I like to think about.

Re: Aren't They Proud of Themselves?
what we need for sending some drink in, is someone the size and stregnth of a richard keil, or a dan blocker., or maybe a couple guys that size no one can stop to bring relief to terri, make sure they are unarmed. if the cops shoot someone unarmed they can be in big trouble. our side needs to think of as many ways as possible to up the odds.
