Let's share our favorite Psalms and let others know why we chose them.

Mine:
Psalm 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exhalted among the heathen, I will be exhalted in the earth."

Psalm 121 I lift up my eyes to the hills- Where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - He who watches over you will not slumber; Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you The LORD is your shade at your right hand; The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; The LORD will watch over your coming and going Both now and forevermore. This particular Psalm has just always been my favorite Psalm of all time. I first heard the first few lines in the last moments of The Sound of Music when the Von Trap family are about to walk into the hills behind the convent. But since then, this particular psalm just seems so comforting and assuring to me that God is always there watching over me and all of us.

Awesome, just awesome! Thanks Kathy!
...although, now I must watch The Sound of Music to hear it at the end! I don't think I've ever noticed, or maybe I've forgotten.

Quote:
It's pretty much in the last moments of the movie when they're saying their goodby's to the Sisters. The Reverand Mother gives it eather as a reminder, a blessing or both. But I always wondered where the quote came from. Then I found it one day when I was reading the Book of Psalms. It's been a favorite ever since. I lift up my eyes to the hills- Where does my help come from? Kathy

I found another Psalm that's beautiful: (as they all are)
63:4 Thus I will bless the while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. (KJV)

I haven't read entirely into Psalms, but my favorite has always been Psalm 23 after i heard a harp rendition of it played by Jeff Majors. It was so hauntingly beautiful, that I couldn't deny how much I loved it.
