Default Vocations Secularity?

Please help me to understand this concept and show me the way, to become a consercrated person for the Lord. I want to be able to help other's and i want my prayer's answered. most of them are answered but my walk has just begun and i need guidence and friendship, so my walk will not be as alone as it could be. Blessed are those who labored all alone and their lives were taken, cut short, because of ignorance, greed, personal gain, unbelief, and lack of knowledge. I pray to be able to reach those who do not believe through love, prayer, sacrifice,(fasting) giving the truth, and i offer all my work's, joy's, and suffering's to the Lord God, in honor of His love for all humanity, for life, liberty, and the persute of happyness, in the precious name of Jesus ( There's power in that name!) Love of Christ Nancy

"A vocation to a Secular Istitute involves a relatively new form of life in the church...it is open to single lay women and men who feel called by the Holy Spirit to consecrate their lives to God more intensely through vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Members...witness to Christ and spread the ...gospel by striving to live as a transforming presence, or "leaven" , in contemporary society, endeavoring to restore all things in Christ while living in their own residence and engaging in the employment of their choice. Hence their entire lifestyle of prayer, work and social activities becomes their apostolate."

Here is the audio of "Life on the Rock #623" August 13, 2009 on EWTN USA with Judith Stegman, President of US Association of Consecrated Virgins.

Here the US Association of Consecrated Virgins web site.

Hi, Nancy.

I was a little confused too and when I saw that EWTN was going to have a show about this, I thought I would watch. The show was excellent and made everything about this vocation easier to understand. The president of the association did a good job.

However, there are some thing's you can join if you are married, like Daughters of De Sales and Daughters of Issabella and alot of other groups that realy do end up a vocation even if you are married. I am in the Daughters of Issabella in Maine. God Bless Nancy
