Default So let's talk about All Souls Day 11/2/09

Today is a celebration of all the Souls in purgatory. I wonder how many there are?
Jesus said try to enter through the narrow door because many will try to enter but
be unable. For those ones who are trying but unable, do they go to purgatory, or not?

I absolutely don't believe in ghosts, I believe they are demons. But this morning on
the radio, a priest said there are ghosts. He said they are the souls in purgatory.
Then he went on to say that to "get rid" of one, you had to have a mass said for them.

Eternal rest grant to them O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them. May
the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace Amen.

Why would a soul in purgatory, who saw God for only a second, ever want to come back to earth? Weird that a priest would say that... I'd say they're probably demons trying to lie, as they do best, that they're from purgatory.

Anyway I realized recently that my mom miscarried a 10-week baby girl, and so OH MY GOODNESS I have a sister in heaven! I'm going to ask her to pray for me from now on.

Also this is sort of related... I recently found out that a woman I've known for a while went was at a catholic hospital for heart problems when she was six, and died. She actually met Jesus!! And He showed her His wounds and talked to her, basically an introduction since her parents had baptized her and that was it. She said how beautiful He was! But then she had to come back, and so they said their goodbyes and she was back, and for a while she saw the crucifix on the wall bleeding, and she had to shout, He's alive! He's alive!!! And she yelled so much the nuns wouldn't let her leave the room .

All Souls Day is the best! I know some people get into the Halloween debates, but from personal preference I like All Saint's and All Souls' way more! What a beautiful time of year

That's what I'd say, but are we smarter than a priest?
Actually, I think I put this in the wrong place, unless anyone has any scripture
on ghosts being souls in purgatory?
