Default Why does the Church think I'm rich?

All my life the Church keeps asking for money. I am not employed and have no money, so where does the Church think I'm going to get it? There is no possible way I can feed the world when here in the USA I know hundreds who have not enough to eat, yet the Church wants us to feed every country except our own family.

I sincerely doubt that you have been told by any representative of the Church that you must donate. At most, you probably were given an opportunity to give whatever you could from your time, talent, or treasure. I have also read enough stories of the sacrifices made by the generous poor to give what little they could (e.g., Luke 21:1-4) to doubt that you have absolutely nothing you can give. If you honestly don't even have spare change in your pocket, then give of your time and talent to your local parish or to a local Catholic charity that serves those even more unfortunate than you. As for your concern that you cannot feed the world, Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said:

Quote:
If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
