Do you believe in angels?
I'm not sure where to post this, and I've tried to search the forums, but I would like to know if there are really angels out there. From what I understand, angels are messengers of God, whom have great power...usually to guide and protect you. etc. Do you believe you have and spiritual beings by your side watching you at all times, and do you talk to them, call upon them when you need them?

If you are a Catholic you are obliged to believe in angels.
For the Church teaching on angels read the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Its free at this link and you can use the index to find angels.

Yes, I believe in angels. To me, that is like asking do you believe in the wind. I can't see it, but I can feel it.

Yes, I believe in angels. They are in the Bible, and all around us. I think they are kind of like extensions of God's will...though they are beings in their own right.

Re: Do you believe in angels?
Angels are in the Bible! Right from Catholic.com:
"
Q: Why the big deal with angels? Are they really a part of the Tradition of the Church, or are Catholics free to believe or disbelieve in them?
A: As to whether or not angels are a part of the authentic Tradition-with-a-big-T of the Church, why, of course they are! When I was in the seminary there was an entire course of theology, called "angelology," devoted to the study of angels.
The teaching of the ancient Church and the testimony of the Bible itself ought to settle the matter for anyone who accepts either of them as authoritative sources. Those of us who accept both as authoritative ought to have even less problem.
Both Old and New Testaments speak often of angels. They appeared, for example, to Abraham before visiting Sodom to try to find ten honest men. Jacob wrestled an angel and had a dream in which he saw angels ascending and descending upon a ladder. There was an angel stationed at the gates of Eden as Adam and Eve were cast out. There was the angel of the Annunciation, Gabriel—without whose presence it is difficult to visualize the Incarnation. There was the angel who appeared to John the Baptist’s father, angels who appeared outside the tomb, and angels who appeared to the faithful at the Ascension—not to mention angels who "ministered" to Christ so often in Scripture. These are far too many references to be simple embellishments, with far too much detail.
True, saccharine images of angels hardly do them justice, and angels like that are certainly not part of Catholic Tradition or theology. Atrocious religious art that depicts them as effeminate creatures of ethereal substance hasn’t really g.asped the reality of angels. However well-intended, that kind of thing does no service to the Church or to the faithful.

I believe we have spiritual beings by our side watching us at all times. I have to admit that I do not talk to my guardian angel very often but I have in the past. I also must admit that I do not often call upon them for guidance. Admittedly, I ask for the assistance of a saint before calling on my guardian angel for help. When I do get supernatural help, I'm not certain if it was due to the intercession of a saint I called upon or my guardian angel. That might be a separate question altogether.

Re: Do you believe in angels?
Angels play an important part of my daily life.
Not only does my guardian angel keep me on the right path, but the intercession of the Arch-Angels helps to make me like Christ

Re: Do you believe in angels?
If you'd like to learn more about angels, I really recommend the book "All about the Angels" by TAN publishers and it was written by a priest!

Yep and yes! Of course! There's overwhelming evidence for their existence. Just do a search in this forum for threads on them, like the thread, "have any of you seen an angel?" Called something like that. People's lives are full of experiences with angels, though in many of these cases, the people pass by without noticing.

Yes, yes and yes.
Hello my friend,
Guardian angels do exist and we all have them. I speak with my angel on a daily basis and very often in the day. I don't have to see, hear or feel my angels presence to know that he is there with me, all the time.
Many christians will admit that they have a guardian angel but few will admit to actively talking to them.
In these prophetic times we live in, our angels will be playing a more active role in assisting us, protecting and defending us.
Angele Dei, qui custos est mei,
me tibi comisum pietate,
superna hodie, illumina custodi
rege et guberna, amen.

since the bible says and the Church teaches that God uses pure spirits called angels as messengers and assigns angels to guard us, yes I believe in angels who fill those roles. I also believe in angels who praise God continually and do the other functions assigned to them in scripture. Of course I talk to my angel, and leave room for her on the chair, I went to Catholic school.
