For your daughter in law

Loving Lord Jesus,
whose hands are underneath our lowest feelings
to support us as we rest in you.
Hold me in this dark place
and sustain my life with your hope.
Let the light of your love warm my heart,
and your Holy Spirit, the comforter,
be with me to lift me up.

Amen.

Thank you for all the prayers. Grandpa is resting quietly but indications are that he is not to be with us for long. My daughter-in-law seems a bit calmer I am sure thanks to all of your prayers.

Loving God please be with this grandfather as he approaches the time he will come before Your beloved Son and be welcomed by Him into His mercy.

Loving Father please have compassion on his granddaughter as she faces the loss of her grandfather. Please give her peace and consolation in her memories of him, and in knowing His struggle will soon be over.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Grandpa is now comatose. As late as yesterday morning, he would raise his eyebrows when my daughter in law would speak to him. It is a very large family and she is the only one he had responded to for several days. A testiment to the strength of their loving bond. My daughter in law has accepted that he is leaving her but is still in much pain (her childhood with the exception of Grandpa was not a good one). She never learned to pray. When I told her that many are praying for Grandpa and for her, she wept and thanked us. So I pass that on to you and also thank you for the great blessing of your prayers.

Grandpa passed peacefully tonight. My daughter in law will now be able to grieve and heal as she knows that Grandpa is at peace.

Thank you all for your prayers.
