Question 72 Angels?

Those 72 gardian angels named Poyel, Achaiah, Lauviah etc...
Are they associated to God? What is their real purpose?
Thanks.

Nothing to do with our faith or the Church.

It looks like a new age site, not a Catholic site.

You can discuss it with a priest, and meanwhile you can pray a Rosary and the St. Michael prayer.

It is not sinful if you did not realize it was sinful or in any way wrong at the time you invoked them. Wherever you got your information from about these 'angels' is not a good source at all, in fact is anything but a good source, and do avoid it in the future. If you continue to be concerned about things, speak to Father about it in Confession.

I've never heard of that list either..angels are of the family of Elohim(God)- and subsequently that is why they are Ang-els...and the archangels names reflect that-Micha-el.. Gabri-el ,Rapha-el etc......there would be many more than 72 guardian angels- everyone has a guardian angel with them from the time they are born until they are safely on their way "home".. and any name you decide to address your guardian angel by is strictly between the two of you- that angel could just as easily have another name when assigned to someone else- only God knows their one true name-...and that is because they are His messengers- not ours....hope this helps

It is not a CAtholic site, in fact being new age it is anti-catholic. Why do you waste your time? Why not simply ask your own guardian angel, given to you by God when you were conceived, for help? this is someone you know exists because you have the assurance of scripture. Why do you need to look elsewhere? No it is not a sin unless you did this with specific intent of rejecting Church teaching and God's revelation about angels. If you spend a lot of time with new age sites and books and objects it could become an occasion of sin in very short order, especially if it means you are neglecting authentic Catholic worship and teaching.

Alix- be at peace with this now- you did not sin you were seeking your connections with God and His angels- but remember this-..ask God in prayer to help you with your needs and then TRUST God will handle the details and dispatch whatever angelic assistance required-

I know my conduct may seem absurd. Why praying the angels when you can pray God the almighty? Well, like you are also supposed to pray Jesus and the virgin Marie and possibily the saints. I told myself why not praying the angels?

May God forgive my idiotie....

alix...you are being too hard on yourself...there is nothing wrong with asking your angels to help- but your focus should be on God- Jesus is God the Son..when we pray to Mary- we are praying for her intercession and prayers on our behalf with her Son- the same with the Saints -asking to put in a good word for us and join with our own prayers to the Father and the Son....the angels(God's Messengers) and the Saints and the Blessed Mother will then often act as God's emissaries and deliver the answers to our prayers-but all prayers have to go through God(Father , Son or Holy Spirit) the others do not act alone...so my words to you were so you'd realize you can deal directly with God- and He will see to it that you find your answers...hope this helps ,honey.... God Bless

If you wish to pray to the angels, pray prayers that the Church accepts.

Everyone should pray to the angels.. but only the right ones. Like your guardian angel, St. Michael, St. Gabriel, and St. Raphael..

Like the prayers from the St. Michael Chaplet.

A good book on angels is this one. None of the New Age stuff, just sure tradition.

I guarantee the St. Michael Chaplet makes the angels very happy.

Don't worry its not sinful since you didn't know. You were just misinformed . I would say a Rosary and some prayers.
