Default Does anyone feel this way sometimes?

Sometimes (oftentimes I'm trying to fall asleep, thinking about life) I start getting these thoughts like "what if the atheists are right" or "Am I SURE I'm in the right religion? There are 1,000s"

Does anybody get these thoughts from time to time? Are they from the Devil or what?

Yes. These thoughts are normal in the process of spiritual growth. You may be having your first legitimate religious experience.

Yes, these thoughts are signs that you are engaged in seeking spiritual truth.

But it is frustrating. I feel this way all the time, and I have no idea where the truth is.

these thoughts could very well be coming from the devil, or they could be coming from yourself, the devil is the the only one who tempts us after all, but i can't say one way or the other,
but to remedy the evil thoughts, first seek help by prayer, and then remind yourself, there may be thousands of religions, but only one was made by God Himself, and likewise, remember that the atheists go on even more faith than we do to support their beliefs, because while they also cannot "see" what they believe, they also lack even more reason and logic, whereas the catholic religion is really not lacking in answers for almost everything, and then to top it off we have thousands if not millions of miracles to back it up.

doubts will always pop up now and then, it even happened to the saints, but you don't have to give those doubts your respect, and the best way to dismiss them is simply by educating yourself in your faith more and more.

ok, hope this helps, take care.

I would just like to add that the Bible has the answers to every single one of the doubts I have ever had.
When I want to better understand God and religion I just follow the Word:
John 14:21
"He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
God has surely manifest Himself in many different ways. Just live by the Word and you will find the answers you are looking for. These Words do not require you to do anything that doesn't help your life or benefit you in some way, they are truly Words of life and can value you and your relations.

Best wishes!
Daniel

It is not a sin to doubt. It is a sin to harbor doubts. Moreover there is nothing wrong with seeing holes in how other people present their reasons for faith.

Do not bury your head in the sand, but don't be afraid either to practice your faith even though you have doubts. Its just like having low self confidence and uncertainty about yourself and acting like you have confidence in yourself anyway. When you take that leap of faith in yourself and succeed, it builds your confidence. The same is true with God. You have to take leaps of faith in Him, and this will build your faith in Him.

But either way its not all blind faith either in yourself or in him. If you think you can fly, you're going to fail. If you think God's job is to make the world revolve around you or that you should never have to endure suffering in your life, than that's not going to work either.
