Are we really not supposed to hold hands during the Our Father?

I converted to Catholicism 10 years ago. I was raised Protestant. Ever since I've been Catholic every parish I've attended has held hands during the Our Father. Now I'm reading on here that this isn't right. It doesn't personally bother me. Is it ok that my parish does this? I really like my church. And if we aren't supposed to do it, then how come so many churches and their clergy allow it?
