Women in the early Church
I was wondering if you know of any books about women in the early Church. Both books that are general and detailed would be appreciated. As well, I'm looking for a variety of ways women contributed to the Church, so I'm not looking for specifics.
Thanks in adavnce and God Bless.

There is a Penguin Classic book titled "Lives of Roman Christian Women" by Carolinne White, editor.
The book deals with women in the 3rd, 4th and 5th centuries.

I have seen a couple books on "The Desert Mothers" - if you do a search on that string in amazon, quite a few choices come up. I ordered one of them a while back and haven't had the chance to read much of it yet.

If you can open it up and tell us a little more about what you think, perhaps quote a little, if you get the chance, please do!
The Desert Mothers sounds like an interesting subject if the editor does it right and uses a lot of sources rather than commentary. One of course would hope for this rather than some sort of feminist take on them, the sort of flawed approach that might typically happen.
