54 day novena rosary question

I came across the 54 day novena rosary but it predates the addition of the luminous mysteries. The way it works is you alternate the joyful, sorrowful and glorious mysteries for 27 days (9 days each) in petition, then again in thanksgiving. But without the luminous mysteries, it will not match the daily rosary. Any idea if this should be adjusted or should it be left alone and said as prescribed?
