As far as I know there are no post nominals associated with the confraternity. Actually, I was somewhat surprised to read your parish deacon uses the 'M.I.'. Though I couldn't find anything about it in any of my canon law books in general I don't believe members of confraternities use letters after their name. That is in most cases letters are reserved for members of third orders or lay groups (fraternities) associated with specific religious orders and houses. And while I don't see anything prohibiting the use of letters by members of confraternities everyone should know they are not the same thing as joining a religious order lay movement.
