Posting to threads and it is updating subscription
Greetings Catholic Answers Forum,
Every time [nearly every time] that I go and post to a thread, when I hit subscribed threads it shows that the thread is updated by ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!. It is extremely time consuming to go and click on each thread to make it not bold in the subscribed threads list. Is this going on for anyone else? And if so, can anything be done about it? It is rather annoying to see the thread updated and it is yourself that has updated it.
I do not want to disable thread notification, just only for myself if I post to a thread. Can this be done?
Thank you for answering this.
God Bless.

Re: Posting to threads and it is updating subscription
When you post in a thread, the system takes you to a temporary landing screen then loads the thread back up at your new post. If you close the window or tab before this process finishes, your post will still be "unread."
On occasion, someone else will post while you are still typing. For some reason, you have to reload the page with their post for it to mark as read, even if you can see it just by scrolling up.
If there are already many pages in the thread and you comment on one of the earlier pages without reading through to the end, you still have to visit all the other pages in the thread.
Alternately, if you're sure that you are up-to-date in all your threads and aren't interested in everything else going on, you can load up the front page, scroll to the bottom of the forum list (just above the list of online users) and click "Mark Forums Read."

Oh okay, this makes sense then. This is what I am doing, because I do not wait until the thread loads. Perhaps I shall do this in the future.
Thank you so much.
God Bless.

Personally, I find that letting the system reload the page at my post is very useful, as it causes my to catch all kinds of typogarphiacl erorrs, incmplete wrds and otherunfortunateproblems.

Greetings SonCatcher,
Guess someone did not let their page reload.
Well that time through the subscribed threads, that little problem I discussed did not happen. Thanks.
God Bless.
