Default file not working

All of a sudden, when I try to download the shows from the site, the files won't work. If it helps, I have a mac. This is the message I get when I try to open the file:

“ca110926a.mp3” is an application which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?

It's doing this with all previous files I've downloaded that I've tried to reopen. Does anyone know what the problem is????

some clarification.... the problem is only with newly downloaded shows.

I am using win xp and have tried with firefox and ie. Apparently the file is not downloading. All that is appearing on my desktop is the file name but nothing plays when double clicked.

A few points:

1) In the new format of the website, it would seem that MP3s of past episodes of Catholic Answers Live are not downloadable past early 2011. I guess this is just because the links have not been properly updated; and what reads as 'download' does not lead to the actual MP3 file.

2) If you go to http://archive.catholic.com/radio/calendar.php, you can find the old calendar format of CAL. All MP3 files can be accessed through there, up to and including September 20.

3) The URL http://archive.catholic.com/audio/2011/mp3/ may be of some use. Over the next few days, maybe the show you'd like to access will be archived there. Just as a hint, you could include its specific file name after the above URL. Since I just realised how its coded, I thought I could share it with you to help with remembering the file name: ca for Catholic Answers; 11 for 2011; 09 for September; 26 for 26th day; a for first hour.

I hope this helps somewhat.

actually, this isn't true. I downloaded some from 08 & 09 yesterday, and everything was working just fine. Today, it seems like the actual file isn't downloading, for it's happening too quickly on my computer.

Yes it does! Thank you. I also noticed that yesterday's shows have arrived via the rss feed so that may be fixed now.

You know what? You're absolutely right.

Either I'm going crazy, or there used to be a yellow download icon on pages such as this one. Stupidly, I got confused when I didn't see them on some of the more recent shows, and thought this might be an explanation. But contrary to what I wrote earlier, 2011 is up and archived just fine; aside from some more recent shows, of course.

Hopefully, the files from this week will get uploaded/repaired soon.

Is it working for anyone yet? I need to figure out if there's something on my end. It's not downloading normally. It takes the normal time to download, but in the window that shows the downloading process it doesn't show the size of the file being downloaded. Also, the solid bar never shows up that indicates an actual download.

Has this been resolved? I see that this was originally posted in September right after we switched websites and there were many issues then, that have been resolved.
