Default What exactly constitutes banned "medical advice"?

So, I know that CAF has a rule against offering or soliciting medical advice. And it seems that most topics about specific illnesses wind up closed.

Yet, I see numerous posts in the Parenting forum regarding pregnancy, breastfeeding, and childhood issues such as vaccinations. Are these not considered true medical issues? I know many people here see pregnancy as "not an illness" and have a very low opinion of OB-GYNs. So, is a request for advice about pregnancy not considered medical advice?

I have also seen numerous posts where people either encourage someone to seek psychotherapy, or advise them not to do so. I have seen many people make pop psych diagnoses about strangers. I have even seen a particular poster advise numerous people to take a certain antidepressant in order to curb their libido. None of this seems to be "regulated", for lack of a better word, at all.

Now, I really don't want to waste my time reporting all these topics, if they're not considered to be true medical advice. So, some clarification would be appreciated.

I would suggest you PM the Parenting Forum moderator with your questions.
