Banner dissapeared
Hey all, just letting you know that the banner that typically floats above the forum and announces a new book or promotion has disappeared.

Since CAF is trying to raise funds, I just figured I'd be NICE and let them know.

I think you misunderstood the other poster's British slang. He was making a joke that someone stole the banner.

Nah, I just happen to work with a lot of British folks so I've learned some by default

Re: Banner dissapeared
Purple may have thought Philial was accusing her of making disparaging comments regarding the missing banner. "Nick" is occasionally used in American slang to mean "badmouth" or "backbite." I think it does have roots in the meaning "to steal" as one common use (of this uncommon term) is "nick one's reputation."
Indeed, I was wondering whether Philial meant that until I paid more attention to the "not nailed down" part of the comment. That made the comment much more clear.
