Hmm what's the title? I dont recognize song titles or artist, but I am sure I have heard the music. You Tube does not work on my computer sadly.
Thanks.
God bless.

Re: Favorite Contemporary Catholic Songs
This one isn't that bad:

I actually like Steve Angrisano's "Come to the Lord."
Quote:
1. Do not let your hearts be troubled.
Children, do not fear.
Though you suffer as I suffered,
I am always near.
Refrain
Come to the Lord;
come to the table of lasting life.
Bring your burdens;
there’s no price,
just come to the Lord.
2. I will never leave you orphans;
you are not alone.
I have made your place in heaven,
in my father’s home.
3. Eat this bread and never hunger;
I will give you life.
Drink the cup I place before you;
you will never die.
Final Refrain
Come to the Lord;
come to the table of lasting life.
Bring your burdens;
there’s no price,
just come to the Lord.
Come to the Lord.

Here I am Lord
The Servant Song
I heard The Servant Song for the first time (I think) at Mass on Sunday and liked it a lot. It's been stuck in my head!

Re: Favorite Contemporary Catholic Songs
My second favorite song is by Rich Mullins called, "Hold Me Jesus" He gave up his very successful Christian music career and all his possessions and went to teach his songs and music to children on an Indian reservation. He even had to visit the monastery to get food. Sadly he died in a car accident at 38 yrs. old. I think God took him because he was a saint.
Google you tube "Hold Me Jesus" by Rich Mullins
My very favorite song is called, "When I'm on My Knees" by Jacki Valesquez. So beautiful and Catholic. Again you can google you tube "When I'm on My Knees" by Jacui Valasquez I like the 4th one down where she is performing at a concert. The first one is a raw video when she is older.
Sorry the links are not working for me.

Good call on the Mullins song. I remember that one well from the late 1900s.

Yes, I love all his songs. There was a you tube video of him on the reservation with children in Catholic uniforms and one with him singing/playing the creed, called "Credo". He was about to become Catholic when he died.

Re: Favorite Contemporary Catholic Songs
I was looking through some Lenten music, and I have some more contemporary favorites:
Turn Our Hearts by Barbara Bridge. This words are beautiful, and the melody is touching.
Beyond the Days by Ricky Manalo. The words really speak of the Lenten season, and if I may borrow the phrase from the not-so-popular Lenten hymn "Ashes", they speak of "creating ourselves a-new". Manalo also composed another Lenten hymn, "In These Days of Lenten Journey", which isn't as much of a favorite of mine as his other composition.

Re: Favorite Contemporary Catholic Songs
Occasionally one comes out that I don't mind. I have to agree with one of the first posters that Kevin Allen composes some excellent music. Let's move forward with tradition!
