Oh yeah, Dave Mustaine is a Christian. I think he's of the non-denominational/love-Jesus-hate-religion variety, but, hey, any love for Jesus is better than none at all.
And he actually refuses to tour with any metal bands that even put across a Satanic image.
As for Santorum, I'm not at all surprised about Dave's endorsement; after all, he's a professed Bill O'Reilly fan.
On a personal note, it's funny you just posted this; I just watched the Megadeth Live in Buenos Aires DVD like 2 days ago.  Dave was one of my musical heroes as a kid, and I still love me some Megadeth.

Not only is Dave Mustaine a Christian, but the bassist, David Ellefson, has just recently enrolled in a Lutheran seminary to become a pastor.
And Megadeth never really did all the "screaming" type of metal anyway.

I didn't know that. That's pretty cool.
And yeah, screaming has never been a part of Dave Mustaine's repertoire. Growling and snarling a little, yeah. But, gravelly as his voice may be, the man can pen a great melody. The choruses to "Symphony of Destruction" and "Angry Again" spring to mind.
Not to mention his compositional skills. The opening of "Diadems" remains one of my favorite minutes of music.

I don't really share his admiration for bill O'Reilly, but on this he's right on.
There IS Christianity in Heavy Metal.

I'm a fan of Megadeth.
That said, I didn't realize Rick Santorum was God.

Haha, I get where you're coming from, but I think the point was that one of the biggest names of all time in metal is supporting a conservative Christian candidate. Not a very satanic thing to do.

Agreed, just thought it was funny the way it was worded. I'm pretty sure that faith in Christ is not a requirement to vote for Rick Santorum. He'll probably get quite a few Jews to vote for him too. And maybe a few secular people, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, etc.
Note: none of the above shall be construed to imply that VeritasLuxMea supports Rick Santorum or any of his positions. 
However, VLM will go on the record to endorse Dave Mustaine should he decide to run for office.
