Yes! The Voice! And the girl was supposed to be what- 12? I remember the scene where the terrified Mother says to the Priest (or was it doctor?), -That THING upstairs is NOT my daughter! ....Or something like that.

Human Centipede: I watched 10 minutes, thought to myself: they can't be really thinking of doing that on film. Fast forwarded and wished I hadn't. Saw about 15 minutes of it total, and its disgusting images stayed with me for weeks.
The Road: When they found the safe bunker I though it could only go downhill from there, so I stopped.

Re: What's the Most Unsettling Movies you've ever seen?
What about unsettling in a good way? "The Trigger Effect" is still the most disturbing movie I have ever seen about social/societal breakdown and "Lord of The Flies"-ish anarchy - I wonder if any doomsday preppers like it. I sure do, and it was made in the late-80's/early-90's, IIRC, pre-Internet, so it has held up quite well.

I'd forgotten the Human Centipede, truly a vile movie indeed.

I only watched the trailer for it. I find the writer must have been a bit mad in the head.....
Saving Private Ryan didn't disturb me particularly. I actually thought it would be more violent then it was. Just the fact that so many men died so quickly was very sad though. I like to think I always have a chance. That if I am skilled enough I could survive any situation. In the end though it doesn't matter how skilled or trained you are. The guys on Omaha Beach really had no chance. Sometimes you just have it coming and nothing you can do will prevent it. Thats how war is though.
I have yet to see the Passion of Christ.

Re: What's the Most Unsettling Movies you've ever seen?
I have to add my vote for the Excorcist- even though I have actually never seen it. I own it, but can't bring myself to even put it in the DVD player because of what I've heard about it. 30 years old, and I can truly say that I am scared to death of that movie.....

Re: What's the Most Unsettling Movies you've ever seen?
When I was a child, my parents used to take me to see movies like Psycho, The Premature Burial, and other horror films, and even once a soft porn movie called "I, a Woman," though, admittedly, they were unaware the neighborhood movie house had begun showing films of this sort. Strangely, I found none of these films unsettling, though I can't necessarily deny the delayed psychological damage they may have caused! The movie I DID find unsettling was "Ol' Yeller." It was a good movie and pure family entertainment, but I just could not get over the fact Ol' Yeller had to be shot at the end of the movie because he had rabies. As an adult, I found the great Woody Allen movie, "Crimes and Misdemeanors," somewhat unsettling, as well as thought-provoking.

I love Saving Private Ryan. It is one of those movies that I can't stand not to watch. Gets me to tears everytime...I was in the 29th in 2003 and remember first seeing the framed photo's of Omaha on the walls at SRB/Camp Fretterd, MD. Puts a big lump in your throat. "29er's Lets go".

Just because I was told not to, I had to investigate this movie. I watched the trailer. What kind of a sick mind thinks up something like that?

Re: What's the Most Unsettling Movies you've ever seen?
I'm pretty hard to shake up, but The Cider House Rules messed me up good. I saw it when I was in my early 20's, my uncle rented it for Thanksgiving, of all things.
I actually fled the house in tears and didn't return for many hours.
I wouldn't touch that movie with a 10 foot pole now.

Re: What's the Most Unsettling Movies you've ever seen?
Schindler's List
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
Saving Private Ryan
American Beauty
Clockwork Orange
1884 (the new version w/ John Hurt & Richard Burton)
The Passion of the Christ
The Handmaid's Tale
The Stoning of Soroya M
"Disturbing" isn't necessarily a bad thing if the film makes you think.

I'm with you there. Until it came out I thought movies like Saw and Hostel were bad. Human Centipede makes those movies look like Care Bears. I refuse to see that movie. And if you can believe it, they say the sequel is actually alot worse. Yuck!

Re: What's the Most Unsettling Movies you've ever seen?
in no particular order:
Stanlingrad
Hotel Rwanda
Europa, Europa (the first death scene still comes to my mind and I read that main character wasn't actually able to get rid of his false identity as a Hitler Youth group member after playing the part for so long)
Schindler's List
Sophie's Choice
Taxi Driver
Food, Inc. (I know it's rated PG but the first scene showed meat hooks and I immediately turned off the TV after that)
Passion of Christ (haven't actually seen it but the trailers are enough for me)
