Default Obama Mandate Panel Never Considered Conscience Clause

Obama Mandate Panel Never Considered Conscience Clause

Washington, DC -- During a Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday night, Representative Sandy Adams questioned Dr. Linda Rosenstock, chair of the Preventive Services for Women Committee of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), about the Obama administration’s Health and Human Services' (HHS) controversial mandate.

Default Re: Obama Mandate Panel Never Considered Conscience Clause

"At the request of the HHS Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, the IOM assembled a committee to provide information and to recommend preventative services for women to be included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 – a committee on which Dr. Rosenstock served."
According to the article, some of the meetings were closed door sessions, and no conscience clause protections were considered.

And this is how public law is now decided, by a committee assembled by HHS bureaucrats who never considered a conscience clause. Apparently they never considered free exercise of religion either.

This is only the beginning. HHS has the power to do this again and again.

We probably knew that would be the outcome. That is why elections matter so much, the congressional house elections this fall will be as important as the presidential. I did just read that Senators Manchion, Casey and Nelson crossed Democratic party lines to vote in favor, God bless them for their efforts. I think one Rep voted against, anyone know who?
