Why was my group deleted?
I created a group called "For the trolls! Lifeguard station".
Why was it deleted without warning?
Thank you,
L&L

Re: Why was my group deleted?
Just a guess , but it may have been encouraging unwanted forum behavior. I don't think moderators approve of trolls, thus no need for a group for them. Again just a guess.

There has been a thread on this forum for several days discussing trolls, so I can't understand why we're not allowed to have a group for them as well.

I haven't see that thread or what it's about (is it this one?, but I'm guessing that a thread discussing what is trolling is far different than advertising "All Troll Welcome Here!!! A Group for Trolls!". The latter is inviting trouble. Besides, I've noticed zero tolerance on trolls in this forums (many new members banned early, with visible posts looking like or close to trolling, thus troll accounts). I've spotted a couple in action myself, too.

Yeah it was that thread I was talking about.
My group was not advertised as a group for trolls (although there was a reference to it in the description) but as a group for people to discuss incidents, laugh about it, that sort of thing. That was certainly my intention, not to encourage but to laugh. Trolls are often insulting and mean about us Catholics, so it was kinda an attempt to laugh at the whole thing.

No, "trolling" in internet forums refer to posting inflammatory messages for no other reason than to cause outrage and trouble. More information is here:

Re: Why was my group deleted?
Note to moderators - I've just realised my thread may be breaking forum rules by openly questioning the moderators in a thread.
I apologise. I'm not questioning the motives of the mods, I thought "I could message a mod... but I've got no idea who moderates the groups! Better to post a thread in the Concierge Desk.."
Oops, sorry.

Re: Why was my group deleted?
I was in a group for a very brief time called "Things Angels Desire to Inquire" and it was deleated shortly after. I have no idea why.
Also, yesterday, I created a group for people who struggle with one or more mortal sin--a support/prayer group titled "Chronic mortal sinners" was deleted. I guess it was the title; I should have thought that through a little more. I created a new group today called "Mortal sin struggles" and I hope this will not be deleted as well.

Probably because they're too vague for group names/ideas.

I don't think so. There are groups with vauge names that have been around for quite a while now like "Meet and Talk, Talk, Talk."
