Default Movies

This is a thread for discussing movies that are centered around anthropomorphism or that are predominantly of that genre.

Just recently I had the opportunity to watch Kung Fu Panda 2. After seeing the first one I didn't have exceptionally high expectations of it's sequel, even though I thought the first was a really good kids movie - but to my surprise it has made it to #1 on my list in the anthro genre.

The characters and KFP universe are greatly expanded, the movie takes on a much more serious tone, the graphics are amazing [except for one particular scene where there is obviously very little polish], there are a lot more great fight scenes, an unexpected but pleasing dose of philosophy, and perhaps one of the coolest villains in movie history.

Perhaps I might be easy to please, but I really enjoyed this film and strongly recommend it to just about anyone. I actually watched it 3 times within a week if that says anything.

Here's a very short advertisement for it. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n_rRxIGCAY Lord Shen is honestly one of the best villains I've ever come across.

If you've watched this movie, or have questions about it, or want to add an opinion and/or question about another movie please feel free to do so!

I wouldn't watch movies with Jack Black. The guy is a known satanist. he made a prayer to Satan on MTV I think.

I really liked the first movie. My only wish was for Jackie Chan to have a bigger speaking part (he was the monkey). It's a fun movie.

I really don't approve of Jack Black's behavior on MTV. That was a big let down, but it's been a pattern with Disney to overly smooze Hollywood celebrities since Eisner took over. I'm not surprised they weren't embarrassed enough not to ask him to do another movie.

I don't l know if anyone remembers this Disney movie. It's called The Brave Little Toaster. I thought I'd add it here, because anthropomorphics can include more than just animal like characters.

I've only seen this movie once (on television), but i remember it keeping me well entertained for an afternoon.

Apparently it may or may not have been a joke, and knowing him it would probably be a joke, but it's still not an appropriate one. I haven't heard of any other incidents like it so I don't see any immediate problems with him.

Yeah, a friend and I felt the same way.

I remember seeing previews for that movie but I never did see it... then again perhaps I did, but it would've been quite awhile ago.

My favorite character was the Radio.

You know what was a great movie, but you don't see it on DVD? Ducktales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.

I kind of grew up on Uncle Scrooge Comics, and then later in high school I would watch the Duck Tales series that appeared on the Disney Afternoon.

The appearance of the movie gave high hopes about Disney animation, and i used to draw the characters during class back then. Maybe I can dig up some old pictures from that time. I'll have to look through my old sketch books.

I got a chance to see the movie again recently via an old VHS tape. It was still as good as I remembered it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I haven't seen it yet, but I thought the first one was pretty good.

These are short videos, not full-length movies, but I've recently become a big fan of Lutheran Satire. For example, here's 12 Days of Christmas Special on youtube.
