Default Spiritual Children of Padre Pio

Can you guys explain to me what it means to be a spiritual child, exactly. I know that in the USA you can send a donation ($6) to be enrolled, but I'm wondering what the duties/responsibilities/benefits* are.

*other than having the good Padre's prayers, obviously

Thanks!

I believe it means that he is in heaven praying for you to perservere to the end. God allows him to intercede on our behalf to bring us back to God and to be reconcilled with God. At least that is what happened to me.

I don't know anything about enrolling for money to be his spiritual child, I think its just something that happens that is supernatural and money can't buy that.

I hope that helped.

God bless you, Lucia Kay, for this great link (above). We pray everyone will visit it, and consider a pilgrimage if possible.

I just revisited this site and was inspired anew. Sadly it isn't very clear whether the facility hosts retreats and other pilgrimage-type overnight and longer visits. I wish the Church would focus more on teaching its religious to interact more with the public in devotional activity, and to greatly expand activity in human services, especially retreats, Saint's Feast celebrations, concerts, speakers, counselling, housing support, etc.
Here's a bit more on Spiritual Children of Saint Pio:
