Question Is Anyone Else Being Knocked Off This Site

Is anyone else repeatedly being knocked off this site or having issues logging in and posting?
I've had problems with this all day.

Yes, here I'm having problems. For some reason it keeps telling me the page cannot be found and then redirecting me to Yahoo.

I have continually had that problem when I try to resond to a member that contacted me. I have never been able to respond to this person.

Next time, you should multiply by infinity, instead.

Maybe someone should try to contact one of the Administrators.

About an hour ago I got Problem loading pages, or 404 error when I tried to select threads. I went to another site and then came back. It required that I log in [so I had to find my password from the last time I used it some year or so ago] but then worked fine.

I get bumped, too. I can either go back arrow on my browser IE8 or I just copy my response on my clipboard and if it goes through fine and if not, I log back in and get the the post and paste my reply.

Seems like there is a small window of time to reply, for me before getting the bump.

spelling edit and yes I have ispell just forgot this time..

When you log in, you should see a small box labelled "Remember Me." If you put a check in that box, a cookie will be loaded which will prevent what seems to be happening to you.

If you don't put a check in the box, after period of inactivity on the forum (15 minutes, I believe) the forum software will consider you to be have walked away from your computer and will automatically log you out. Unfortunately, while someone is composing a reply to comment, the software can not detect this and sees it as a period of inactivity. So often when someone is finished composing a reply and clicks on "Submit Reply" they are surprised to discover that they are no longer logged in.

Again, putting a check mark in the "Remember Me" box will prevent that problem.

Is anyone else being logged off automatically after logging in?

Now I know what to do when 'replying' and I get loged out. Thanks!

You are most welcome!

Sometimes I forget to click on that "Remember Me" box. Then, after composing a reply and clicking the "Submit Reply" button, my carefully thought out comments () disappear, and I get that solemn reminder of the need to log in.

When this happens, I immediately hit the "Back" button on my browser. Doing so takes me back to the screen where I have composed my reply. I then highlight and copy everything I wrote. Only then do I log in... otherwise I would have lost my comment!

After logging in, I have to look up the thread I was interested in. I hit the Reply button and paste my comment into the reply box. And then.... finally.... hit the Submit Reply button. At that point, my endangered words finally are posted.

What I just mentioned is pretty cumbersome. But as an emergency back up plan, its good to be aware of it.

I use it too often.

When this has happened to me, I just log in and my comment is then posted.

Sometime though I do loose a posting.
