Default Scriptural Rosary

Recitation of the scriptural rosary is very inspiring with each prayer there is a brief thought, or meditation, that intensifies the prayer. Is there anyone else who prays the scriptural rosary prayer?

hi txblubel, yes I agree, and this is exactly the principal of the sung rosary also. At the end of each 'decade' there is a reading about the mystery followed by a period of silent reflection, and the sung 'hail Mary's' then provide a minute or so each of highly meditative reflection. With the sung version, it takes around 45 minutes to sing a chaplet, with only 5 hail Mary's, so it's more of a 'Cinqade' or 'Lustrum' than a 'decade'.

Other people who sing it with us for the first time often comment that the extra time it takes enables each word to come into significance, which I expect fits with your experience.

God bless
