4/4 w/ Tim Staples- Mike Strikes Back
So I now listen and wait for this guy. I am almost a mini fan because I crack up when he calls and I wait to see what ridiculous script he has prepared again. He didn't let me down. So he took a somewhat different approach this time. He asked Tim Staples to give him reasons why a Protestant would want to become a Catholic. Tim gave 3 off the top of his head: 1) Church established by Christ, 2) Sacraments that do not exist in Protestantism, 3) Rich Tradition. So then Mike begins with his script, albeit short because Tim and Patrick are not letting him start his speech. Mike let it be somewhat revealed that he is a Protestant and there is a Catholic attending his Church and it appears Mike is trying to prosolytize his Catholic counterpart. Mike told this Catholic that if you ask Catholics why they should be Catholic, they will never say "To be a better Christian" which because they don't Catholicism must be false. WOW!!! That was a doozy. Of course Tim explained that ALL the reasons he gave naturally makes a Catholic a better Christian. I appreciate Mike's new approach but his agenda was the same.

It is sad that one must put down The Church in order to promote his own agenda. Mike is no different than many anti Catholics. He cannot see the forrest for the trees.

Same shallow crud as usual from people who just don't get it.
Maybe, though, it's a good thing people like him call. It demonstrates that Christianity is more than sensationalism, and especially Catholicism has more substance than the "happy blindness" some people claim is behind religion.

LOL! Okay, I've heard this guy a couple of times too...He is hilarious. But we should pray for him really. He seems almost to actually not hear the cogent answers he receives. It's odd because they answer his "objections" which themselves are usually badly formed and poor, but he steamrolls right on with the prepared diatribe as though they hadn't said a word!
