A Question About "Revived" Threads Getting Locked

I’m puzzled and curious about the criteria for locking an older thread that someone went and revived, because I noticed that this 2-month-old thread got locked - http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=648531

yet this thread didn’t - http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=336602
and it’s over 3 years old.

I wonder if it's perhaps a matter of different moderators having different criteria for when a thread is considered too old to be revived? Perhaps there are just some really old ones that slip under the radar? Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!
