Ring around the collar!
What is the best spray cleaner on the market for getting rid of dirt around a white collared dress shirt. I tried javex and Tide in the washing machine but while some of it comes out, there is still some left around.

Re: Ring around the collar!
I read that if you sprinkle baking soda into the armpits and collar of a dress shirt and then -iron it, it helps to deter the stain. I know that hydrogren peroxide helps to "un-yellow" white clothing. But I bet Oxyclean is probably the safest.

Re: Ring around the collar!
There are two things you can do that work:
1) spread the collar open on a flat surface with the stain facing you and pour a line of liquid dishwashing detergent along the length of the stain and work it into the fabric in the stain area with an old tooth brush. When the detergent has soaked into the fabric just put the shirt into the wash and launder as usual with the normal amount of soap/detergent and bleach.
2) Spread the collar as above and soak the stain and adjacent area with 409 brand all purpose detergent. When the detergent has soaked through the fabric, launder as usual with a normal amount of soap/detergent and bleach.

Re: Ring around the collar!
And if none of the above works, dye the shirt black.
