And my point is (from my previous post):
However, an important point is that it has gotten much warmer than today, such as during th end-Permian extinction warming 252 mya (6C above today's world temp - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permian...tinction_event ), during which 95% of life on earth died, and the PETM 55 mya (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PETM )
Of course, these great warmings happened on orders of magnitude longer time-scales, not lickity-split like we're doing.
So, if you don't want your progeny dying from poisonous hydrogen sulfide outgasing (see http://geology.gsapubs.org/content/33/5/397.full ), I'd suggest turning out those lights not it use, maybe taking reusable bags when shopping, keeping tires inflated, etc., and maybe saying a little prayer now and then -- a daily rosary would be best
