jnoelbalana,

You certainly have had a lot of good insights from others. But sometimes our heart screams so loud that our mind cannot hear a thing. It is our heart that is our undoing.

May I suggest something that will lift a heavy heart.

The MIRACULOUS Medal.

Why this? Because it truly is miraculous, that is where it got the name. From the people themselves.

You obviously need strength to do the right thing. Mary promises GREAT and ABUNDANT graces to those who wear it in her behalf. All you have to do is trust her, without a doubt, that she will give you those graces when you ask her for them.

Here is some important info about the Miraculous Medal, one of Mother Teresa's
favorites.

"Have a medal struck... All who wear it will receive GREAT graces; they should wear it around

the neck. GRACES will ABOUND for persons who wear it with CONFIDENCE."
From the mother of Jesus spoken to sister Catherine Laboure 1830.
Later Mary said, “... it must be given to the whole world and to every person.”

"Great graces are often attached to what seems trifling." St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

"The devotions we practice in honor of the glorious Virgin Mary, however trifling they be,

are very pleasing to her divine Son, ...." St. Teresa of Jesus

During this apparition, Mary's hands had 3 rings on each finger. Each ring gave off
rays of colored light. A few rings did not. Mary said that the lights radiating from
the rings are graces that people ASK for. The rings that didn't radiate she said
were graces not given because they were NOT asked for.

Have it blessed. Keep it on all all times.
Wear her medal in her honor because the devil will not stand by and not tempt you.

Then say, "Mary I am asking now for great graces which
you promised to those who ask and believe in what you said."
Trust her, it works. She is the mother of God. Would she lie?
Your mother wants to help you. It is her wish for you. She promised and she will deliver.

"Great graces are often attached to what seems trifling." St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Put yourself in her care completely knowing she will keep her word to you.
Just hold the medal, and ask for a great grace.

======================================== =====
"Yes, blessed is she who BELIEVED that the PROMISE made her by the Lord would be FULFILLED."
(Lk. 1;45) St. Elizabeth extolling Mary for her complete trust in God's promise.

Dear Friend,

Please remember that the girl you love will not give up her faith and has set her sights on you as a . . . potential convert. I know Italian Catholics who have married Italian Jehovah's Witnesses - all hopeless situations where the Catholics soon become Jehovah's Witnesses.

If you study with them for three years or whatever, remember you will be going into a greater depth into their faith that you probably haven't with your own Catholic faith. You will wind up knowing more about what they believe, including their arguments against Catholicism, than you know about Catholicism.

What will happen? You will be putting your faith in grave danger. You will set yourself up to lose your faith. Also, what if after three years of studying their faith, you don't convert? Your girlfriend may even put the issue of your conversion as a test of your love for her.

Do you really want to be put in that situation (you sound like you are there already) to choose between that girl and your faith (i.e. eternal life)?

I don't want to say there are plenty of other girls out there. But I will anyway . . . And good Catholic girls. Go out and find yourself some really pious Catholic girls. Studies have shown that the more religious women are, the more passionate they are . . . at dances and parties.

You are in a quandry, but you are young. Don't kid yourself that you can hang out with them for three years and emerge as Catholic as you are today.

Alex

We will, God bless you. With that, you can visit the local Jewish community in your country if you want to get deeper information about this issue.

The link doesn't work for me. And I'm curious as to why you would recommend a Catholic dating a Jehovah's Witness "visit the local Jewish community"?

dont change your faith cause of a girl - i mean that in a way that you should see the evidence in the Catholic church and see that you HAVE THE RIGHT FAITH!

jnoelbalana14: I hate to break your heart, but it might not be a good idea for you to maintain a relationship with her. I used to have a JW boyfriend. At first, I thought religion would not matter because we loved each other. In fact, if we ended up getting married, I was willing to raise any children we had in his faith but I decided I would not convert. It did not work out. His family and his co-JWs made him feel guilty about dating a Catholic. He also felt bad whenever I would bring him to church when I heard mass. It was a mess in the end because neither of us would budge as far as converting went.

I know it sounds romantic when "love conquers all" but you also have to be practical. And you have to be concerned about your soul.

If you can bring her into the Catholic faith, then I think there is a glimmer of hope. Remember that as a male, you are expected to be the spiritual leader of your family.

I pray that God reveals to you His plan for your life in ways that you understand. Be firm and be strong in your faith.

I am praying to Saint Jude and it is just great the way he is answering my prayers. He truly always listens. Why wouldn't you say a 9 day novena to him? I am sure he will give you a sign or show you a direction. He is really a marvelous saint! Please give it a try. Please.

You've received excellent advice and I certainly hope you seek another relationship.

I recently met a JW neighbor who was interested in converting me. I went home and looked up JW and floored at what constitutes their beliefs. I believe they're pagans, not Christians, and a cult. It is also very obvious that she is not interested in debating her religion. My feeling is they only want to involve themselves with those who are lukewarm and can be easily swayed. In your case the carrot is the girlfriend.

Have you ever met the Catholic brother-in-law? If he is still Catholic, his life is not easy.

My neighbor is divorced and her kids are Protestant. They chose to live with their Dad which grieves her. They come after all major holidays, after her birthday and after theirs because there is no celebrations in her home. Celebrations are against the JW's beliefs. They are, in my estimation, a joyless lot.

A Protestant friend had a son who married a JW and converted. He then had five children. Everytime his mother sent a gift to one of the kids an argument would break out because he'd accuse her of forcing celebrations on to his kids.

Her reply was that she was a grandmother and this is what grandmothers do and she was trying not to send the gifts on their birthdays or on or around religious or patriotic holidays but it was difficult. Consider we're talking about five kids with bdays in different months plus Easter, and Christmas and then add the patriotic holidays so when is a good time to send something???

continuing.......

I was acquainted many years ago with a Protestant couple who had three young kids. Marriage was fine until the wife decided to become a JW. Husband ended up beside himself. She would not participate in any of the Christian holidays, kids birthdays, or patriotic celebrations. He had to do all of it if the kids were to have any traditions.

When asked why she was not helping she replied that she was not stopping the family from doing what they wanted. True. What she was doing was sequesting herself in her room leaving the family to celebrate Christmas without her. Passive agressive behavior. The kids ranged in age from three to 10. Father was beside himself and ended up suing for a divorce with sole custody of the kids. And up an up hill battle that was.

Please read up on JWs. I believe it is a strong requirement that all go door-to-door. Also they apparently believe that only 400 or so persons will obtain heaven. What's the purpose of this religion if it has been determined your chances are nil from the get-go?

You are a man and someday you will be a father. You will pass down your Catholic beliefs to your children because you want your children to obtain everlasting life and to know the TRUTH. This is what your ancestors gave to you and it is an awesome gift. Give it to your children.
