Dear Dawn,
Thanks for the link!
Its nice to hear him supporting Catholics! I did not know he was a Lapsed Catholic
Its so nice that he took his children to the Vatican to see the ceremony of the new Cardinals.
I agree with his video, its getting ugly, it looks like a persecution....
Thanks,
God Bless,
PAX

Good afternoon, Dawn,
Well, I'm back on a dial-up connection, so video link too fast for my connection. I don't follow Glenn Beck, anyway.
God loves you,
Don
P.S. have all the mares foaled their colts?

Hi, there, Dawn,
Well, I just don't worry about stuff like that, I go to see the article referred to. It's so seldom I have the time to explore a website ... and the ones I want to explore are already bookmarked. I try to limit my internet time, so's not to tie up my telephone with this dial-up connection.
I had AT&T's DSL for a year. It just kept getting more and more expensive and I think AT&T has changed management to a team with much more aggressive sales tactics, so, I bailed out and have another telephone provider, now.
God loves you,
Don

Re: End Times Speculation XIV
How NOT to interpret the Apocalypse and how TO do it
If it is true that, in apocalypse as follows, there are
FIVE months of torture in the first great woe,
TWO horns like seven in the third great woe,
and
TWENTY THOUSAND TIMES TEN THOUSAND creatures that kill in the second great woe,
It surely would not mean we take them literally. For, as for months, Christ said, "it is not for you to know times or seasons." And, as for army sizes and what nations, "nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, but the end is not yet."
And not only that, apocalypse, being about salvation history in traditional interpretation, can only reveal those questions which truly matter, which must mean, content in the Catechism. But the catechism nowhere tells us how long it took for Jerusalem to fall to Roman soldiers, nor predicts any future time of torture by helicopter machines, just as then Cardinal Ratzinger pointed out that Fatima is too specific to be placed on par with Scripture. For even Russia, with all its great importance in modern history, cannot be the subject of Divine Revelation, which trascends geography.
Therefore, foolish are these Fundamentalists who see China in 200 million.
So then, if the apocalypse must deal with ages of history related to Catholic doctrine, it must inevitably deal with ECCLESIOLOGY. For whereas the Church has never prayed or mentioned in her formal liturgical eucharist prayer a particular nation or time, it does pray "that they may be One, as the Father and Son are one."
And, moreover, if there ARE these numbers:
FIVE, TWO, SEVEN, TEN THOUSAND TIMES TWENTY THOUSAND,
and their meanings must be spiritual, how should we go about seeking their mystical meaning?
We already know, first and foremost, from EXISTING SCRIPTURE AND TRADITION.
ANDDDD! The Gospels, especially. For the whole of the NT following the Gospels merely expounds upon the Divine Words of Our Savior.
How much more should the mystical meaning of such mysterious numbers be sought after first in the Gospels before any other attempt.
Wherefore, if we see that Christ fed the multitudes on one occasion with
FIVE loaves and TWO fish,
and on another with
SEVEN loaves and a few fish,
and, at the same time, was told he could in no wise feed them all even a little with
200 DAYS WAGES, which, if we use the Divine Calculator of a day as a thousand years and thousand years as a day, becomes...
200 THOUSAND THOUSAND years of wages, or, in a different factoring,....
20 THOUSAND times 10 THOUSAND,
and, if we remember that Christ told the parable of the king who, with
10 THOUSAND
is considering going against another king with
20 THOUSAND,
he might be wise and call a truce ahead of time,
We, then, have a very likely place to assuage the meanings of these mystical texts if we but ponder what these literal numbers in the Gospels might mean in a deeper sense!

Cardinal Dolan: President Obama's Remarks on Marriage 'Deeply Saddening'
May 9, 2012
WASHINGTON—Cardinal Timothy Dolan, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), issued the following statement:
President Obama’s comments today in support of the redefinition of marriage are deeply saddening. As I stated in my public letter to the President on September 20, 2011, the Catholic Bishops stand ready to affirm every positive measure taken by the President and the Administration to strengthen marriage and the family. However, we cannot be silent in the face of words or actions that would undermine the institution of marriage, the very cornerstone of our society. The people of this country, especially our children, deserve better. Unfortunately, President Obama’s words today are not surprising since they follow upon various actions already taken by his Administration that erode or ignore the unique meaning of marriage. I pray for the President every day, and will continue to pray that he and his Administration act justly to uphold and protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman. May we all work to promote and protect marriage and by so doing serve the true good of all persons.

Mystics have stated-it will come down to whether we want Satan's perversion of God's Covenant of Marriage, or for it to remain as God had Created, between one man and one woman.
It will be visible if (or that) the scales have tipped.
America has a choice to make.

The video is excellent, and again.....right on. Have seen it prior as several of my friends have sent this one to me about a week ago. Yes, we are at WAR alright....but anyone with eyes can see that. The WAR being not of flesh and blood but of principalities and powers. The Holy Father is more aware than anyone of this! The battle is raging.

Good afternoon, Dawn,
I think it's too bad, that celibacy for Christian singles gets left out of the discussion on marriage, as a viable alternative. I consider celibacy as a wonderful refuge from all the pain and diseases of promiscuous sexuality: any sexuality.
God loves you,
Don

Re: End Times Speculation XIV
First, if anyone missed it, there's a poll going on over in the Apologetics forum/Sacred Scripture subforum, called " Are The End Times Near?". Interesting viewpoints.
Second, some interesting developments in Israel. Head over to the Flashtraffic blog, and scroll on down to two articles dated May 9: " IS NETANYAHU’S STUNNING POLITICAL DEAL A PRELUDE TO WAR?" and " VISITING SAN REMO: HOW THIS ITALIAN CITY PLAYED A CRITICAL ROLE IN THE PROPHETIC REBIRTH OF ISRAEL".
Brief note #1: The San Remo Resolution of 1920 was endorsed and signed by the League of Nations. When the United Nations was formed, one of the first things they did was to confirm all the treaties, decisions, etc. made by and under the League of Nations. Therefore, the San Remo Resolution is still in effect with the force of international law.
Brief note #2: If you haven't heard, Netanyahu managed to convince his hated political rival, Shaul Mofaz, to join his government and form the largest national unity government in the history of Israel. Rather than focusing on national elections on Sept. 4, the Israeli government can focus on how to defend itself against Iranian aggression. My guess is that Netanyahu showed Mofaz some intelligence that scared the hamantaschen out of him.

Re: End Times Speculation XIV
May 13 is the memorial for Blessed Imelda Lamabertini, who is considered to be a Martyr for the Eucharist. She was 11 years old at the time of her death; under the rules of the time she could not receive Holy Communion. Imelda was totally devoted to the Eucharist and eagerly waited for the time when she could have her First Holy Communion.
On May 12, after the evening services at the convent where she was living, the priest went into the chapel to close up. He found Imelda praying before the Blessed Sacrament, as was frequently the case, but he also saw that, hanging in the air in front of Imelda, was a Host. Several nuns heard the priests exclamations, came to the chapel, and also witnessed the Host hanging in the air. When the priest held a paten under the Host, it dropped onto the paten. The priest took this as a sign that Imelda should receive the Host, and he gave it to her. Imelda's face lit with joy, and she died in ecstasy.
Imelda is one of the Incorruptables, persons whose bodies have been preserved from corruption after death. Her feast day is on the 13th instead of the 12th because she died after sunset, and so she was considered to have died on the 13th. She has yet to be elevated to sainthood, but she is still considered to be the patron of First Communicants.
