Slavery is a RACIST term that Catholics ought not use.
The term "slavery" comes from the word "Slav" as in the Slavic peoples of central to eastern europe... In particular, it was meant to describe the non-Christian Lithuanians who were conquored by the Holy Roman Empire by the German Teutonic knights in the 13th century along with the aid of English and French Catholics who travelled to Prussia to battle alongside the germans.
The Lithuanians were captured and used to work for the Church to help aid the few native Prussians who converted, along with new pilgrims to Prussia who were asked to relocate there after the native Prussians were mostly killed off by the germans.
As a European American with some Slovak traces within my blodline along with English, irish, Scottish and many other things -I am highly offended by the term "slave".
Is there anyone who disagrees that "slave" is a racist term?
