Mary, Our Model in Prayer
"All praise and glory are Yours, almighty Father:
You have given us Your Son Jesus to save us from sin.
We praise You for choosing Mary to be His mother,
for teaching her to believe Your message,
for helping her to accept Your holy will.
Strengthen us by Your Spirit to be like Mary:
to ponder Your word in our hearts,
to obey Your will, to love Your Son,
and to sing Your praises every day.
Eternal Father,
we praise Your Holy Name, through Jesus Christ Your Son,
in the love of Your Spirit in Mary, for ever and ever."
Amen +

Re: Help Needed! Will you take a few minutes to share a prayer?
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

Re: Help Needed! Will you take a few minutes to share a prayer?
    :go pray:
The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel
The Chaplet of St. Michael is a wonderful way to honor this great
Archangel along with the other nine Choirs of Angels. What do we
mean by Choirs? It seems that God has created various orders of
Angels. Sacred Scripture distinguishes nine such groupings:
Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Powers, Virtues,
Principalities, Archangels and Angels (Isa. 6:2; Gen. 3:24; Col.
1:6; Eph. 1:21; Rom. 8:38). There may be more groupings but these
are the only ones that have been revealed to us. The Seraphim is
believed to be the highest Choir, the most intimately united to God,
while the Angelic Choir is the lowest.
The history of this Chaplet goes back to a devout Servant of God,
Antonia d'Astonac, who had a vision of St. Michael. He told Antonia
to honor him by nine salutations to the nine Choirs of Angels. St.
Michael promised that whoever would practice this devotion in his
honor would have, when approaching Holy Communion, an escort of nine
angels chosen from each of the nine Choirs. In addition, for those
who would recite the Chaplet daily, he promised his continual
assistance and that of all the holy angels during life.
The Chaplet of St. Michael
O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be
to the Father, etc.
[Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following
nine salutations in honor of the nine Choirs of Angels]
1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of
perfect charity. Amen.
2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin
and run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.
3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere
spirit of humility. Amen.
4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Dominions may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and
overcome any unruly passions. Amen.
5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Powers may the Lord protect our souls against the snares and
temptations of the devil. Amen.
6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling into
temptation. Amen.
7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Principalities may God fill our souls with a true spirit of
obedience. Amen.
8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Archangels may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all
good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven. Amen.
9. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of
Angels may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal
life and conducted in the life to come to Heaven. Amen.
Say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading Angels:
St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael and our Guardian Angel.
Concluding prayers:
O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the
heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits,
servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor,
you who shine with excellence and superhuman virtue deliver us from
all evil, who turn to you with confidence and enable us by your
gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.
Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus
Christ, that we may be made worthy of His promises.
Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a
merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most
glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Your Church, make us
worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none
of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be
conducted by him into Your Presence. This we ask through the merits
of Jesus Christ.

Re: Help Needed! Will you take a few minutes to share a prayer?
Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing;
God alone is changeless.
Patience gains all things.
Who has God wants nothing.
God alone suffices.

Christ has no body but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good,
Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world.
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body now but yours,
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassion on this world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

Act of Oblation to Merciful Love
O My God! Most Blessed Trinity, I desire to love You and make You loved, to work for the glory of Holy Church by saving souls on earth and liberating those suffering in Purgatory. I desire to accomplish Your will perfectly and to reach the degree of glory You have prepared for me in Your Kingdom. I desire, in a word, to be saint, but I feel my helplessness and I beg You, O my God! to be Yourself my Sanctity!
Since You loved me so much as to give me Your only Son as my Savior and my Spouse, the infinite treasures of His merits are mine. I offer them to You with gladness, begging You to look upon me only in the Face of Jesus and in His heart burning with Love.
I offer You, too, all the merits of the saints (in heaven and on earth), their acts of Love, and those of the holy angels. Finally, I offer You, O Blessed Trinity! the Love and merits of the Blessed Virgin, my Dear Mother. It is to her I abandon my offering, begging her to present it to You. Her Divine Son, my Beloved Spouse, told us in the says of His mortal life: "Whatsoever you ask the Father in my name he will give it to you!" I am certain, then, that You will grant my desires; I know, O my God! that the more You want to give, the more You make us desire. I feel in my heart immense desires and it is with confidence I ask You to come and take possession of my soul. Ah! I cannot receive Holy Communion as often as I desire, but, Lord, are You not all-powerful? Remain in me as in a tabernacle and never separate Yourself from Your little victim.
I want to console You for the ingratitude of the wicked, and I beg of you to take away my freedom to displease You. If through weakness I sometimes fall, may Your Divine Glance cleanse my soul immediately, consuming all my imperfections like the fire that transforms everything into itself.
I thank You, O my God! for all the graces You have granted me, especially the grace of making me pass through the crucible of suffering. It is with joy I shall contemplate You on the Last Day carrying the scepter of Your Cross. Since You deigned to give me a share in this very precious Cross, I hope in heaven to resemble You and to see shining in my glorified body the sacred stigmata of Your Passion.
After earth's Exile, I hope to go to enjoy You in the Fatherland, but I do not want to lay up merits for heaven. I want to work for Your Love Alone with the one purpose of pleasing You, consoling Your Sacred Heart, and saving souls who will love You eternally.
In the evening of this life, I shall appear before You with empty hands, for I do not ask You, Lord, to count my works. All our justice is stained in Your eyes. I wish, then, to be clothed in Your own Justice and to receive from Your Love the eternal possession of Yourself. I want no other Throne, no other Crown but You, my Beloved!
Time is nothing in Your eyes, and a single day is like a thousand years. You can, then, in one instant prepare me to appear before You.
In order to live in one single act of perfect Love, I OFFER MYSELF AS A VICTIM OF HOLOCAUST TO YOUR MERCIFUL LOVE, Asking You to consume me incessantly, allowing the waves of infinite tenderness shut up within You to overflow into my soul, ,that thus I may become a martyr of Your Love, O my God!
May this martyrdom, after having prepared me to appear before You, finally cause me to die and may my soul take its flight without any delay into the eternal embrace of Your Merciful Love.
I want, O my Beloved, at each beat of my heart to renew this offering to You an infinite number of times, until the shadows having disappeared, I may be able to tell You of my Love in an Eternal Face to Face!

Re: Help Needed! Will you take a few minutes to share a prayer?
Prayer to the Blessed Trinity
O my God, Trinity whom I adore, help me become utterly forgetful of myself so that I may establish myself in You, as changeless and calm as though my soul were already in eternity. Let nothing disturb my peace nor draw me forth f from You, O my unchanging God, but at every moment may I penetrate more deeply into the depths of Your mystery. Give peace to my soul; make it Your heaven, Your cherished dwelling-place and the place of Your repose. Let me never leave You there alone, but keep me there, wholly attentive, wholly alert in my faith, wholly adoring and fully given up to Your creative action.
O my beloved Christ, crucified for love, I long to be the bride of Your heart. I long to cover You with glory, to love You even unto death! Yet I sense my powerlessness, and beg You to clothe me with Yourself. Identify my soul with all the movements of Your soul, submerge me, overwhelm me, substitute Yourself for me, so that my life may become a reflection of Your life. Come into me as Adorer, as Redeemer, and as Savior.
O Eternal Word, utterance of my God, I want to spend my life listening to You, to become totally teachable so that I might learn all from You. Through all darkness, all emptiness, all powerlessness, I want to keep my eyes fixed on You and to remain under Your great light. O my Beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may never be able to leave Your radiance.
O Consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, overshadow me so that the Word may be, as it were, incarnate again in my soul. May I be for Him a new humanity in which He can renew all His mystery.
And You, O Father, bend down towards Your poor little creature. Cover her with Your shadow, see in her only Your beloved Son in who You are well pleased.
O my `Three', my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose myself, I surrender myself to You as Your prey. Immerse Yourself in me so that I may be immersed in You until I go to contemplate in Your light the abyss of Your splendor!

"Do Not Be Afraid!"
O most loving Jesus,
grant us the grace to be attentive
to hear your call to follow you.
May we then become aware of our sinfulness,
leave everything behind, and trust in your words:
"DO NOT BE AFRAID!"
With that assurance, may we open our minds and hearts,
attain full knowledge of your will and be transformed
through perfect wisdom and spiritual insight. Amen +

Prayer before mass
Prayer Before Mass
"Eternal Father,
I unite myself with the intentions and affections
of our Lady of Sorrows on Calvary,
and I offer to Thee the Sacrifice
which Thy beloved Son made of Himself on the Cross,
and which He now renews on this holy Altar.
I offer it in the name of all mankind,
with the Masses which are now being offered,
and all those which will be offered this day
throughout the world.
Amen" +

Re: Help Needed! Will you take a few minutes to share a prayer?
O Lord Jesus Christ, reward the apostolic zeal of Thy servant, Brother Jordan Mai, OFM, who, leaving all earthly things, labored daily faithfully and lovingly for the salvation of souls. Grant that he may obtain from Thee evident signs and prodigies to glorify Thy name so that he may be raised to the honors of the altar, and that through his merits I may obtain the graces I desire. Amen (+ 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary, 1 Glory Be)
Brother Jordan was born in 1866 in Westphalia, Germany. He was devoted to the Holy
Eucharist and prayed constantly for the salvation of dying sinners. He died Feb. 20, 1922 at
his Dortmund monastery. He is called "the St. Anthony of Dortmund". His cause for
beautification was introduced in 1937.

Every Day Prayer
Jesus, I love you!
Please fill my heart and soul with your gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit:
PATIENCE with myself and others,
WISDOM to say only good things people need to hear,
FORTITUDE to overcome any fault,
STRENGTH to carry any cross,
HUMILITY to love everyone,
PURITY to attain perfection,
and OBEDIENCE to accept your divine will.
One day at a time. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow is not here.
Amen +

I very much like this one, (the "Anima Christi"; I don't pray it in English, but usually in Croatian or sometimes in German when we pray it in church here but giving a link to the English text here
"Soul of Christ, sanctify me..." http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/prayers/anima2.htm
