prayers for Addiction
I am a mother of 2 that has battled smoking for some time, I always quit when pregnant ( during 2nd trimester) My husband and I are wanting to try for another child but I feel and know I need to stop this once and for all before pregnancy. I am quiting this evening so that I may have 6 hours of detox before I wake Sunday. I am quitting cold turkey. I ask for prayers to give the strength, serenity, a calm and logical mind to undergo this detox. as I said I have two children ages 4 and 18 months that I stay home with ( hence serenity haha) my 4 yr old said she wanted to smoke when she gets bigger and it broke my heart, b/c i remember being a little girl and watching my mother smoke and wandering what the joy was in it and that is what led me to smoke, I want/ NEED to end this cycle, I have ended the cycle of child abuse in my family and this is the next cycle that has to end with me. Please I ask for help! I humble myself. I understand this CAN NOT be done with out G*D so I ask anyone who reads this to please pray for me not just when you read it but thru out the next few days Please!

Re: prayers for Addiction
Praying for you.
Below is a prayer from the Divine Mercy that HCLWS posted for others.
Prayer for the Release of a Loved One from Alcohol or Drug Addiction Through the Divine Mercy and Blood of Jesus
Lord Jesus, I put myself into Your hands this day. I ask You, with all my heart, to cure the terrible addiction to (alcohol /drugs) in (name the person). Create in them an intolerance for (alcohol /drugs) that will prevent them ever offending those who love them again. And grant their loved ones the grace to forgive them for all the hurt they have caused. Through the Divine Mercy and blood of Jesus, I also pray that they will be healed of all withdrawal symptoms of this terrible affliction. I sincerely ask this, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Re: prayers for Addiction
Mother Mary, please intercede for Lynne_bug87... May God grant her the strength and the fortitude to fight off her addiction. May she always remember that she is doing this not only for her health but for the well-being of her future children.
St. Michael, the protector, pray for her.

Re: prayers for Addiction
You will be included in my daily rosaries. May you quit smoking because it will please our Lord very much and will help keep your children from the same bad habit.
