Default Crossroads GPS Throws 'Basketball' Ad At Swing States

"Crossroads GPS, a conservative nonprofit group founded by Karl Rove, announced a $9.7 million ad buy attacking President Barack Obama over student loans, jobs and the economy.

The ad, entitled "Basketball," features a woman whose grown children are still living at home, saddled with student loans and looking for a job.

"I always loved watching the kids play basketball. I still do, even though things have changed. It's funny. They can't find jobs to get their careers started, and I can't afford to retire, and now we're all living together again," says the narrator. "I supported President Obama because he spoke so beautifully. He promised change, but things changed for the worse."

The ad will run in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The $9.7 million buy is part of a $25 million ad campaign announced recently by the group."

Nice ad, but where's Dad? - Watch the ad and see if you can find him!

I guess Karl Rove thinks fathers no longer need to be "in the picture".

I suspect the ad deliberately targets working mothers, long regarded as a "swing vote" group.

Thankfully, the majority of men aren't voting for Obama, nor did they in 2008.

And that's quite a guess on your part, without actually knowing anything about what Rove thinks. Quick - what I am thinking right now???

Seeing as how the bad economy has particularly hit single parent families, it seems apropos.

Besides, I see ads with a married couple that shows no kids in it all the time. Are we to assume the group funding the ad thinks children no longer need to be in the picture? Laughable.

It's been in discussion all over the internet, radio, and tv as to whom it is addressed. One doesn't have to be a mind reader.

And yet somehow, you are Bella infer he thinks dads are unnceccessary. Got it.

Maybe the ad is a targeted ad, like most ads are - shocker!. You must lose a lot of sleep at those AARP ads, what with their non-inclusivity and all.

The Father is the same place he was in the "JULIA " ad

Karl Rove has an interesting 'father history" himself. It may account for the slant on some of these ads.

The ad targets those that voted for Obama in 2008.

The ad must be rather effective if all that can be said against it is that there is no father (mother, children, religion, dog ...) in it.
