Do guests get counted as viewers?

Often Guests are 3 times the listed members in a forum. When guests view a thread, is that view counted in the number of listed views?

Its a fair question. I thought I could run a quick test by creating a thread, and immediately log out. I then visited the thread using a browser I use only for testing purposes.

So did the thread count change? No. But then I remembered that thread counts don't seem to update immediately, but only every so often.

So I guess we need a pearl of wisdom from the staff of this fine site.

I must not have worded this question correctly, since I do not have an answer.

I watch the Forum's column headed "Views". When a guest views a particular thread, does her or his visit to that thread get counted in the total number of views reported for that thread?
