Secret of Mary
Has anyone read the "Secret of Mary"?
Are there any more books like this that you could recommend me?

Re: Secret of Mary
St. Louis Marie de Montfort wrote several works similar to Secrets of Mary, the most well known of which is True Devotion to the Mary. The best translation is the one by TAN Books which I have linked to, and this version also contains all the prayers and meditations for the 33 day preparation for consecration to Mary, all for only $12.
" God Alone: "The Collected Writings of St. Louis Marie de Montfort" from Montfort Publications contains all of St. Louis de Montfort's writings - all of his letters, rules, meditations, homilies, writings on Mary and the rosary and so forth. I have this book and it is definitely worth the $25 price in my opinion. It is well done with gilded edges and a maker ribbon.
You can get all the writings contained in God Alone online here if you don't want to buy the book.

Tim, I'm not sure but can this be read on-line? I know "True Devotion to Mary" can be. I like the Tan publications BTW. Though I imagine what can be read on-line isn't as in-depth, though I may be wrong on this?
Peace

Re: Secret of Mary
I would highly recommend The Secret of the Rosary by St Louis de Montfort also.

Everything St. Louis wrote that I am aware of is online, including True Devotion.
The entire contents of God Alone, which contains True Devotion, is at http://www.montfort.org.uk/Writings/MontWork.html
Secrets of the Rosary is at that link, as are letters St. Louis wrote to his sister and various missionaries and religious communities, morning and evening prayers, and even St. Louis' will which he wrote as he was dying.
The print book has a few chapters on his life and work, where he lived, etc. so that one can get a fuller picture of who the man was and the context of what he wrote and the reasons why he grew to have what some view as a such a radical devotion to Our Lady.
For those who want to do the consecration to Mary, the 33 day preparation includes readings from "The Imitation of Christ" by Thomas Kempis. I like the TAN version of True Devotion because it contains the relevant chapters from Imitation of Christ so you don't have to purchase or carry around another book if you don't want. The TAN book also has short chapters on joining the confraternity, indulgences, and a few other interesting items.

Thanks for the info, I see. I'm impressed with all I have read in other areas by TAN thus far though.

I have read Secret of Mary!
Other good books on Mary are "The Admirable Heart of Mary"
and "The Immaculate Conception and the Holy Spirit" The Marian Teachings of St. Maximilian Kolbe by Fr. H.M. Monateau-Bonamy OP
But the God alone book with all St. Louis de Montforts writings I highly suggest, awesome book!

I don't see what you are seeing. You are seeing irony because the forward is written by the next pope?

Yep. Maybe ironic was a better word than funny. Please don't read too much into my comment.

Re: Secret of Mary
Another very excellent book is by the same author of "Imitation of Christ," Thomas a Kempis, who wrote "Imitation of Mary." I don't think this is a very well known book, but I found it amazingly helpful. You can get an ebook version from Amazon here, You can also get a hard copy as well, of course.
You can also download a pdf copy of it here, but it is literally scanned in and somewhat difficult to read, although I put it on my Kindle a couple of years ago and read it before Amazon had the ebook version.
