Please help me before I explode
I am reading about the Pope's butler and the leaks and reading the comments is making my blood pressure rise.
There are comments saying wicked things about the Pope and people (civilized people, or atleast I thought) calling for the execution and deportation of Catholics out of the UK, Yahoo News won't allow me to post comments for some reason but I am by the fact that my faith is becoming more and more hated in this country.
I am seconds away from Please help me.

Re: Please help me before I explode
It's overwhelming to hear people say vicious things about one's faith (and directly/indirectly about you!) Naturally when someone shoves, you shove back! And rightly, you should not allow anyone to advance on your religious rights (any advancing though should be taken as an opportunity to grab them while they're close )
At the same time, it's people like this that Jesus absolved: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!
Pray not only for relief; pray for love! That you might love the very ones who hate you! Love conquers all, my friend. Fight the fires of hell with the Fires of the Eternal Love of GOD!

Re: Please help me before I explode
The comments attached to online news articles rarely are worth reading, particularly on large and minimally moderated sites such as Yahoo News. The ability to post online under the cloak of a pseudonym brings out the worst in people. You'll read all kinds of bigotry in the comments sections, and the crude remarks tend to drive away good people from posting, so the combox turns into a cesspool.
I rarely read the comments added to online news articles, particularly if the news concerns politics or religion. The signal to noise ratio is too low.
Fortunately, online forums have a degree of community which is lacking in the comboxes of news articles. People develop a reputation, which to some extent holds them more accountable. Plus the moderaters are much more in evident.
When people complain about the moderators here, I can't help but think of how bad it would be without their work.

Re: Please help me before I explode
Don't let it get to you
everyone loves to hate on the Catholic religion
Why because - either they are right or we are
you don't here people hating on Methodist, pentacostal , episcopalion or other denominations - and that because all the branches came off of the Catholic branch so its either they are right
or our 2000 year old church whiched started on Pentacost , is traceable down to the apostles is right
forgive my spelling

Ignore this. Pray for the Pope every day! He needs our prayers! Pope Benedict XVI is a very holy man, and he threatens a lot of the non-Christian world. Satan is trembling because God is going to win, and the time is coming when he will be cast into the lake of fire! Do not be discouraged! Do you believe in what Jesus told Peter? The gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church! Have faith, or like Peter, you will start to sink!

Re: Please help me before I explode
It might be hard, but don't read the editorials that are upsetting. If the radio or TV starts to rant, just turn it off, pray the rosary. It is natural to be very upset and rightly so but if these things are going to cause you to explode, you will need to turn it off, walk away and not read it.

Re: Please help me before I explode
It is so frustrating to live in a culture where it is acceptable for society to disagree with the pillars of our faith, but it is unacceptable for the pillars of our faith to disagree with society. The climate it is causing is choppy at best, and I can't help but feel these storms are brewing for a reason.

Re: Please help me before I explode
I do believe I read a prophecy that this pope with have to go "underground, or hiding." There are prophecies that predict that the Vatican will be attacked. Just pray that we will all remain faithful to the bitter end. Keep our eyes on the prize.

These are some of the reasons why I have decided to wear a medal. Mine is the Miraculous Medal. I really wish all would wear something to show that they are Catholics or even a cross to show they're Christians. We need to see each other as does the world.

I wear a small silver cross at all times and my sons both wear their Kairos "waffle" cross necklaces. I think I may get a miraculous medal though. Or switch to a real crucifix. The cross itself is enough to draw looks from Baptists.

I thought Baptists and other Protestants were okay with the cross but not with the crucifix. Calvin thought it was idolatry and that the cross signified the risen Christ. Didn't want to dwell on the crucifix with the suffering Christ.

The Southern Baptists don't like cross jewelry at all, it seems. Maybe it's just weird to them, I don't know. Like, somehow I am reducing Jesus' glory by wearing his cross?

I smile because I recently had a conversation with a woman who tried explaining to me that I was, essentially, reducing Christ's glory by wearing a cross. As she stated, "If you believe in something, you can show it by what you do. Not by what you wear. We don't need to see a picture of Jesus to remind us He is holy." But what made me smile about the whole exchange is, she was wearing a giant pin of her daughter in basketball uniform and had several button-pins of her other children's pictures all over her purse. So doing this glorifies our children, but wearing an image or symbol of Christ diminishes Him? Flawed logic.

Re: Please help me before I explode
"Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves."
—POPE BENEDICT XVI, Inaugural Homily, April 24, 2005, St. Peter’s Square
"We may see that attacks against the Pope and the Church do not only come from outside; rather, the sufferings of the Church come from inside the Church, from the sin that exists in the Church. This was always common knowledge, but today we see it in truly terrifying form: the greatest persecution of the Church does not come from external enemies, but is born of sin within the Church.”
—POPE BENEDICT XVI, interview on flight to Lisbon, Portugal; LifeSiteNews, May 12th, 2010
Remember:
Where Peter is, there the Church is.
—Ambrose of Milan, A.D. 389
Matthew 16:18-19
I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Pray for our Beloved Pope every day.
Remember, God has already won.
Remember, We win.
+Jesus, I Trust in You!
Love, Dawn
