Catholic Radio now on XM
For those of you who had XM now have Catholic radio due to Sirius completely revamping their LINEUP.
Also, all of XM's channels have now changed to Sirius channels. Or at least most have.

Re: Catholic Radio now on XM
Yep. I have Sirius, but for our XM friends, the Catholic channel is on XM 117. Not sure where EWTN is.

No EWTN on XM, but it is on Sirius. My Sirius radio stays on The Catholic Channel though

Last time I checked the listings, XM did not have EWTN.
My car actually came with XM already installed, so I wrote to XM awhile back, telling them that I'd subscribe immediately if they would add EWTN to their lineup. I received a reply saying that they would forward my comment to the programming department. I never got any other response, even after sending a follow-up email a few weeks later.
Very disappointing.

Morwenna, I know we've probably beat the horse to death, but you should REALLY give the Catholic Channel a chance. There's even audio of Pope Benedict XVI offering a blessing to "the listeners of The Catholic Channel."
Very cool to hear that a few times each day

Dustin, your comment made me chuckle, although I wouldn't classify this as a "dead-horse" topic ... so, not to worry.
On a side note: CAF really needs to add a "dead horse" smiley ... although it would probably break the servers due to over-use.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I am probably guilty of being an old fuddy-duddy, but from the descriptions I've seen here, CC sounds like something geared toward the younger crowd ... not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not my cup of tea. I've seen the programs on EWTN described as "boring" while I find them absolutely fascinating, so apparently I'm operating from a different perspective here.
Since you've presumably listened to both, what is your take on the similarities/differences? Please share as much detail as you'd like; I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

I say dead horse because if you look at any of my posts, 7 out of 10 are defending/plugging TCC.
If you'd like more "mature" programs, there's a show every Thursday called "A Conversation with the Cardinal," where Cardinal Egan in NY spends an hour talking with TCC program director Ron Astorino and answering people's questions about the faith. There's also Sounds from the Spires with Dr. Jennifer Pascual, music director of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Word to Life comes on each Friday previewing the Sunday readings, Fully Alive caters to married listeners (hosted by Dr. Greg Popcak and his wife Lisa) plus Daily Mass from St. Patrick's each morning at 8 eastern.
A lot of programs are geared towards younger audiences, but there's something for everyone

I have to agree with Morwenna. I have XM and I wish I had the EWTN channel. EVERY TIME I give CC a chance it seems I catch them on break. I never caught them talking about serious teachings of the Church. I think I heard them talking about sports last time I tuned in. I like Relevant radio, but sometimes it gets way too political for me, but that's only Drew Mariani. They have Fr. John Corapi , Daily Mass (except saturdays), Searching the word, word on fire, and the Holy Rosary. I think relevant radio and ewtn have been the reason that I started my Catholic conversion.
Maybe CC is the hip or "politically correct" Catholic Channel. I don't know how well it does for the younger audience because I'm 16 and don't like it.
Am I just a serious guy?

Not sure what you mean by "politically correct" in describing The Catholic Channel. They don't skirt around controversial issues.

I think it's between $10 and $15 per month, but I'm not sure. We renew yearly.

Re: Catholic Radio now on XM
I realize this thread is 3 yo but honestly My opinion is a bit mixed. I find Catholic Radio on XM sometimes difficult to listen too especially when There seems to be a lot of goofing off at times. But, once in a while the discussions do get interesting, For example, I like hearing Cardinal Dolan.
Today the person speaking was critiquing Media about Catholic news coverage on secular media, that there is (obviously) bias to what Catholic news that make headlines so they will take something Iike Vatican leaks and get huge coverage but the Lawsuit involving 43 institutions get no coverage... Which I totally am in agreement with. But then he said something that really bothered me. He said he's not so concerned about the Vatican leaks compared to the largest Religious freedom lawsuit in the History of our country. Again, am not denying that there is total media bias, except, with all do respect I am VERY concerned about these leaks. If there's a 'Judas' in Rome close to the Holy Father I think every Carholic should be very concerned.
Again it may be just small potatoes, maybe its just me.. I know that's just one opinion, still it didn't sit right with me.
