Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
I love Fr. Jim Gigliotti, TOR
He's one of the best priests I know. Fr. Joey Pilola is also a future OSB, I'm quite fond of him too.

It appears that the number one ranking on this poll indicate that faith and popularity should never be married.

Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
I like Fr Wade and his in your face and to the point homilies. Not to mention the way and style that he uses to sing mass.
As for MFVA priests with me it is a tie between Fr's Anthony and Dominic. Fr Anthony for his simple humor and common sense and Fr Dominic for his review of what is sin and other topics most people don't want to hear.
The way I look at it is most people who don't like a certain priest because of his homilies is because they are either boring homilies or make them sweat and feel uncomfortable---the subject they speak on is hitting "too close to home" as far as their life and shortcommings is concerned. Those are good priests to me if they can get me thinking about me, my life and sin.

Fr. Mitch Pacwa tends to give really awesome homilies His show "Threshold of Hope" tends to give the true explanations for various Magisterium documents.

Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
Fr. Mitch Pacwa: Homilies on target with plenty of bible history. His "Open Line" is one podcast I can't miss every week. Maybe he doesn't know about one idiosyncracy he has but it marks him as a thoroughly human alter Cristus. Almost every answer he gives the callers on his radio program he prefaces with "Here's the thing. . ."
A close second would go to Fr. Anthony Mary.

Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
Father Joseph Mary tops my list. His knack for connecting stories of everyday lives with the gospel and lessons learned is terrific. Next is Fr. Anthony, with his sense of humor and good timing. I watch the 8am mass everyday just to listen to the homilies before I go to my daily mass at 9am. Fathers Wade and Mitch are such good preachers and teachers; I learned a lot from them. A good homilist is someone who can engage you, a good storyteller, if not a good teacher. Father Mark gives good substantive homilies, but the delivery sometimes leave much to be desired. There is now a new priest, Father Leonard, and I think with practice, he could be a good homilist. I miss Father Pavone with his passionate and fiery homilies. I hope he is OK.

Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
Father Anthony Mary, hands down, in fact I only watch the mass when he comes in, I love the tone of his voice and what he has to say for me in my life he makes sense her sermons are always interesting and of todays life struggles. I just can't say enough about him.
Thanks,
Maureen

Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
Father Anthony Mary is my favorite of all, because he is truly a peaceful, and humble man of God. As it is often said, the camera doesn't lie. That camera picks up every nuance, even little voice inflections, mannerisms, and charisms. He communicates from the heart and soul with great kindness and compassion. The true nature of an individual cannot be rehearsed. No, it is genuine. Father Anthony does not come off as a know it all, or ham. You can tell he is a loving, caring, and gentle soul. I believe he is a natural in the Franciscan order.
Growing up, I remember one very special Franciscan priest who came from a local monastery to say Mass at my parish, or the neighboring parish every Sunday. People would find out which Mass he was scheduled for at either parish, and they made it a point to attend at that place and time. He was wonderful. And he was such a good preacher and teacher that his scholarship, although at a doctoral level, was easily understood by children in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. He had a gift of making people feel good about themselves and Church teachings as he reasoned through magnificent homilies and interpretations of the gospels. How uplifting that was.
Father Anthony is like that as well. I could listen to him for hours.

Re: Who is Your Favorite EWTN Priest?
My favorite priest on EWTN is Father Anthony. I think his homilies are to the point and are delivered in a friendly and insightful manner. Father Meneze's homilies are always very informative although lengthy points, numbering, can get a little burdensome. I really enjoy listening to the new priest, not Father Leonard, who's homilies were very good and his delivery was very good. I cannot understand why he has not received more air time whereas Father Leonard has been a regular.

I don't think they schedule it to give the priests "air time" like a TV show would. I think they just follow a regular Mass schedule. They are priests and this is the Mass. It just happens to be on television.
It isn't a cheesy sitcom or talk show. It isn't Oprah or Dr. Phil.
