Sorry, I don't think you'll get much traction with this idea.

FYI, Canon Law actually forbids priets from being involved in political parties under ordinary circumstances. So it is unlikely you are going to find a priest running for office here in the U.S. anytime soon.

Consider our Lord's reply to Pilate when he asked if Jesus was a King...

It would never work. Since the founding of this country Catholics were viewed by some nonCatholics as puppets of the Pope, more loyal to the Vatican than to the US. In some states Catholics were not even allowed to own property. That was one of the reasons the Knights of Columbus came into existence. We have come a long way.

What we do need though, are people who can set aside their conservative and liberal ideologies and nad read church teaching as it stands. I think the Bishops try to do this and then catch criticism from both conservatives and liberals when they do not happen to agree with them. That is why I take their views and statements very seriously whether I agree or not.

Alas!

For several decades now, the Kof C have allowed
well-known pro-abortion and pro-homosexual knights who hold public
office to remain knights in good standing, despite their behavior causing
scandal to knights, to devout Catholics, to fallen away Catholics, to other
politicians, to the media, etc. (Kennedys, Cuomos, Daleys, Rudy Giuliani,
and many more).

Yes!

I used to disagree with some of the Bishop's teachings and statements on certain policy, but then I stopped and told myself that if my Bishops are saying one thing and I am saying another, I needed to seriously reconsider my position and why I had that position. I have completely changed my views on a few issues to align with theirs now.

Focus on a political party or group whose policies reflect or are guided by Catholic principals & teachings.

in doing so; guide not simply our own candidates but select other candidates to support as well.
