I don't see how choosing not to do what the law says you must is any different than doing what the law says you can't.
Breaking the speed limit is both. It says I must adhere to a limit, which I exceed. it says I can't drive over a limit, which I then do.
Nixon chose not to enforce the laws which stated he behaved illegally, just like Obama.

Only problem with that is most come here to make money and send 80% of it back home.Their intentions are well documented. Money sent home by migrants constitutes the second largest financial inflow to many developing countries, exceeding international aid..
Most illegal immigrants have no intentions of becomming citizens "Here to build a better life". Their living conditions here are not much better than they had back home (they dont work cheap labor and become rich).Migrant farm workers live in terrible conditions some die from heat stroke. Their living conditions are terrible.
They risk the lives of themslves and the children by travel either through dangerous terrain
or packed like a can of sardines in the back of a semi in 100 degree heat.
Its not difficult to file for legal citizenship the church diocese will even do the paperwork for FREE! You just have to pay the fees. Theres little excuse to come to this country illegally. I know Ive been through it myself first hand.
For people here to build a better life and move away from whatever it is they are trying to get away from....they sure take pride to fly their countries flag on US soil.

Why do people make statements without all the facts? Are illegal immigrants insane that they would brave the travel conditions you describe when they could simply come here legally? Ask yourself that.
Are they out of their minds to hide in the shadows and accept low wages and maltreatment from some unjust employers when they could simply get the Church to make them citizens FOR FREE. A simply online search (or phone call to your parish) will establish that what you are saying here is grossly inaccurate.
People cannot become citizens unless they qualify and there are very few ways (meaning essentially, none) for a non-US born person without American parents/spouse OR an advanced degree that is listed by the government as 'needed' here, to qualify.

Thousands of illegal immigrants have died in the last 15 years trying to cross the inhospitable terrain along the U.S.-Mexico border, but an exact number is hard to come by, according to a study released last week by civil rights groups.
Estimates ranged from 3,861 deaths to 5,607 deaths, according to the report produced by the American Civil Liberties Union and Mexico's National Commission on Human Rights.

Another thing that needs to be mentioned are the so-called "social justice" Immigrant Rights Groups networked through out the country. I just learned in my state, after searching the Secy of State web page, that tens of thousands of dollars have been paid to professional lobbyists (since 2009) by one single Immigrant Rights Coalition to lobby for passage of a same-sex civil unions bill. Our bishop recently de-funded one such immigrant-rights group for their support of this. WHERE are they getting this kind of money? According to DiscovertheNetworks, much of this funding is coming from the Tides Foundation (so tell me again, this isn't a political issue!) And of course their web page proudly displays alliances with the Center for Community Change and Interfaith Worker Justice, both of which, if I'm not mistaken, were de-funded by the CCHD after the scandal was exposed. (Of course, they still walked away with a lot of Catholic money!)

And your impassioned response changes what? The fact that the Church still cannot simply pick up random illegal immigrants from the street and help them become citizens for free?
Bothersome things, those prickly facts...

I was watching Romney at the Latino Political Convention and he had some great ideas for reforming legal immigration.

I'm confused with this response... Are you suggesting that it's not enough for the Church to provide means for foreigners to migrate to the States, but rather the Church needs to solicit individuals in the States who are here illegally by illegally arranging for their citizenship status..?

Any more questions about your first respones seekerz Are illegal immigrants insane that they would brave the travel conditions you describe when they could simply come here legally? Ask yourself that
Or are you satified with mine? Just asking because you didnt comment again about the life threatening dangers of illegal immigrants.
The fact that the Church still cannot simply pick up random illegal immigrants from the street and help them become citizens for free?
The church doesnt "round up" random illegal immigrants and try to help them No offense but thats a funny thought.
As I posted earlier Caholic Charities offers services that help those in need to become legal residents and YES FREE if need be. However you still have to pay the goverment fees. There may even be help for those fees I dont know.
Are you in need of help?
If you dont understand the facts I have presented to you and how they relate to your resonses I cant make it any plainer. You probably just refuse to accept my statements as
good logical responses. How can you convence someone that indeed 2 plus 2 equals 4? You dont buy it and I wont lead a horse to water that refuses to drink!.
You asked for facts I gave them to you point blank.

I am simply pointing out that regardless of what help the Church offers, it cannot change the fact that most people who end up immigrating illegally had no LEGAL path available to them (before or after migration). That's just the nature of immigration law.

See my post above. The way immigration law is at present, legal immigration is not available to most people who don't have a US citizen spouse or parent, unless they belong to a very narrow range of occupations listed by the government as needed here.

This fine country was founded by immigrants. As I said I have first hand expierence of going through the immigration procedure. Do you? You fill out the paper wait....finger prints wait...fill out some more paper work....wait some more youll get it done but it takes time. Barringanything unforseen there shouldnt be a problem just red taoe and time oh yeah fees ....unless Catholic Charities helps you out.
Heres some more facts for you to ignore
Immigration to the United States is a complex demographic phenomenon that has been a major source of population growth and cultural change throughout much of the history of the United States. The economic, social, and political aspects of immigration have caused controversy regarding ethnicity, economic benefits, jobs for non-immigrants, settlement patterns, impact on upward social mobility, crime, and voting behavior. In 2006 the United States accepted more legal immigrants as permanent residents than all other countries in the world combined.[1] After ethnic quotas on immigration were removed in 1965[2] the number of actual (first-generation) immigrants living in the United States eventually quadrupled,[3] from 9.6 million in 1970 to about 38 million in 2007.[4] Over one million persons were naturalized as U.S. citizens in 2008. The leading countries of origin of immigrants to the United States were Mexico, India, the Philippines, and China.[5] Nearly 14 million immigrants entered the United States from 2000 to 2010.[6]
