Can Jesus tell me what I want?
Hi,
I was wondering if Jesus can tell me what I want? Does Jesus know what I want better than I do? If so should I ask Him to tell me what I really want? At least then if I know what I really want then I can be honest with myself about it when I ask Jesus for it. Then I can hear Him more clearly when He tells me what HE wants. Can you ask Jesus to teach me what I really want so I am not confused about it.
God bless you and thank you for all of your prayers to God.

Put yourself in God's position. You made a human being for his own sake, to follow a life that makes himself happy. Now this human is clinging to you wanting something spelled out, that he is supposed to make for himself.
Would you, as God, make the mistake of telling him? Because wouldn't that be 100% the diametrical opposite of the point?

Re: Can Jesus tell me what I want?
Uh, God made us to know, love and serve Him. Not particularly to make ourselves happy, at least as happiness is commonly understood. Hence Mother Teresa's decades of spiritual dryness which probably left her feeling anything but happy.
But I'm sure He can give you the wisdom to make the best choices in your life, best both for you and Him.

Your mistake lies in assuming that God created us merely to be happy. Our happiness comes from doing His will. It is perfectly ok to ask for clarification in doing His will.
...really, the more I read your post, the more horrible and condescending it sounds. I can only assume you didn't mean it to read this way, because it sounds about as un-Christian and unfeeling as possible.

I would say that the Christian answer to the OP's question is "Yes."

Jesus knows what you want and what you need. But its not his role to tell you what you want and need because God has created us as free human beings. We are not robots. What you want and need is what God wants us of us and that is to learn how to love one another and freely love and serve God. We have to work with each other to get along and help each other to open those doors that are closed to us. To recognise the doors to leave closed and walk the mountainous journey of life with each other day by day. We need each other to achieve that.

Re: Can Jesus tell me what I want?
Lord, may Joshua want what you want for him. Mayhe want only what is good and just; may he want to be pleasing to you and know what is pleasing to you. Amen.
