Miracle Healings Draw New Christians in Northeast India
In a development that he says people in Europe and elsewhere have a hard time believing, a bishop in India reports that repeated miraculous healings similar to the early Church are causing massive growth of new Catholics within his area of India. This area had almost no Christians 35 years ago, and now 40% of the people are Christians, he reports.

Re: Miracle Healings Draw New Christians in Northeast India
I didn't know that the Catholic faith was growing so fast in that part of India. Blessed Be God Forever! There are many Indian Catholic's at the parish that I go to and I can't tell you how inspired I am by them. Many of the women come dressed in sari's and cover their heads with the sari, it is certainly a heavenly sight for this often dismayed with the world Catholic.
I will keep the Catholic Church in India in my prayers tonight that's for sure.
God bless

Re: Miracle Healings Draw New Christians in Northeast India
This past Sunday Mass at my parish was celebrated by a missionary from India. He said that from a little village of 600 Catholic families, they had 25 vocations to the priesthood. Catholicism seems to be quite vibrant in his part of the world.

I can personally testify to this. Though I live down South, I have plenty of North-Eastern colleagues, and I wish I could be as "committed" a Christian as some of them are.

One certainty you would never see that story in the mainstream media.

Re: Miracle Healings Draw New Christians in Northeast India
The Stories of Miracle healing are indeed true. It happens so often that sometimes people think if you do not have a physical experience of the power of Holy spirit or supernatural gifts like gift of tongue, prophesy etc you only have just luke warm faith.
In fact I witnessed a person who was paralysed and bed ridden for years walking down from the Alter to the Main Entrance of the Church in front of the whole congregation. It is a special moment. I do not know how to describe the moments when you see and hear the stories of miracles that are happening with the people around you.
Yes, we in India are constantly reminded that the same Jesus who walked around Galilee forgiving sins, healing the sick and casting out demons is walking amongst us forgiving our sins and healing us from sickness. That is true literally.
Praise be to God
Joe
