My name is Deacon Thom. I am a Permanent Catholic Deacon ordained in 1995. I have read a lot of the public posts here and admire the thought and the cooperation with the movement of the Spirit that has gone into many of your decisions to be vegetarian. Whether it is because of your compassion for animals or concern for your own health (caring for your body = God's creation) or feeling a spiritual attachment, I suggest that these are all spiritual motives. Experiencing the Breath of Life in all of creation is living in the Spirit. I have Native American experiences as well, and this connection with thankfulness for creation is a major part of their spirituality that is an exact fit with mine. My wife and I do Spiritual Direction, mostly on-line, so helping peole find the "divine and the holy" in the context of normal everyday life is always an honor. Feel free to contact me. Blessings of Peace!

Thank you DeaconThom
You are right - among this group recognizing the connectedness of us and God's creation has been the motivation for making what many in our society would see as either radical (counter-cultural) or not enough to make a difference (one person making a change) God Bless you in your ministry!
