Re: Do you have to be an Apologist to answer questions on CAF?
Well, this is an open forum, and people will respond to posts in general subfora with their own opinions - some well substantiated, others perhaps not so much (but hopefully well intentioned nonetheless).
If you have a serious question, perhaps consider directing it to the Ask an Apologist sub-forum, or seek counsel of a priest / spiritual advisor.

Re: Do you have to be an Apologist to answer questions on CAF?
If you know the answer to the question and you can help someone, i think you should be able to try.
I have asked the apologists on this forum a couple of questions and never received an answer. I know they probably get hundreds of them a day though, so they do have to pick and choose carefully.
So...if I have a question, I would probably have to rely on the people of the forum to help if they can.
Just my thoughts.

If you are talking about the Ask an Apologist forum, answers in that forum are reserved to Catholic Answers staff apologists and those Catholic Answers has specially asked and prepared to assist the staff apologists in that forum.
If you are talking about the rest of the forums, which are open to participation by all registered members, no. All registered members are welcome to participate in the open threads on those forums.
