Who wants to beat the media won't report on it's self? Though one thing did stand out to me

The New Orleans Times-Picayune on Monday described inflated body counts, unverified "rapes," and unconfirmed sniper attacks as among examples of "scores of myths about the dome and Convention Center treated as fact by evacuees, the media and even some of New Orleans' top officials."

Indeed, Mayor C. Ray Nagin told a national television audience on "Oprah" three weeks ago of people "in that frickin' Superdome for five days watching dead bodies, watching hooligans killing people, raping people."

The mayor needs to stop blaming everyone else and take the blame he deserves and he should be fired by the residents of NO.

In addition to having very sensational and not truthful accounts, the fact that they reported that there was so much murder and raping going on in the dome, FEMA said in the hearings that they couldn't send in help with that type of chaos because their people are not law enforcers. So the fact that bad and innacurate reporting was going on contributed to FEMA's timing.

The evening news had this story on tonight...They had that picture of Oprah, all wide-eyed & misty, hanging on Nagin's every word.
This just makes me very sad, and very angry. That people would use their positions to put out a bunch of lies...and, yes, they did damage.
Of course they did..... Lies go round the world while the truth is still putting its clothes on.
