Re: Ancient Aliens and the Vatican.
well apparently History Channel is doing a series called the "The Bible" which basically tells the biblical stories. I'll watch it when it first airs, but if it turns out to be some stupid conspiracy theory documentary that presents the gnostic and Dan Brown psuedohistory with which this channel always seems to present Christianity, that will be the only time I watch it.

I'm guessing that isn't true either?

That kind of throws a kink into Star Trek type stories where folks hop around the universe, then every few years stop in to visit mom & dad back home in Iowa.
Light-speed is supposed to be that ultimate speed where matter and energy become indistinguishable. Remember your High School science teacher explaining that light rays acts like both energy and matter? That poses a bit of a problem for someone who would travel faster than light, when you find yourself transformed into pure energy instead.

Various scenarios have been proposed to travel faster than light. I am convinced that some of us will see experiments in our lifetime that show objects can travel faster than light and not turn into energy.

Re: Ancient Aliens and the Vatican.
If one went faster then light one would go into the past. Suppose you went into the past and killed your father (before you were conceived) therefore you would not exist and therefore not be able to kill your father which would mean that you exist, which would mean that you do not exist. Therefore travel into the past is logically impossible, which means that faster then light travel is impossible.

Re: Ancient Aliens and the Vatican.
Interesting stuff.
One thing I hardly ever see mentioned is, if you do eventually go faster than light speed, any impact with an object would destroy the vehicle.I don't think swerving would be very easy at that rate. Even hitting a grain of dust at that speed would probably ruin your day. Teleportation is the way to go, so long as nothing else is with you in the teleporter. Anyone seen ''The Fly'' with Vincent Price?
I'm surprised no one has posted this
