Wear a Medal & Show you are a Catholic
Recently, I've begun to wear a Miraculous Medal for many reasons and I wish that more Catholics would join in this.
1. The world needs to see us.
2. Fellow Catholics need to see us too.
3. It is a way to evangelize. Be prepared to answer questions about the significance of the medal you choose to wear.
4. The Church is attacked by many scandals the latest being the betrayal of the Pope's butler. This is bad enough but the internet takes on this latest scandal are unbelievable.
5. Medals and other scaramentals carry graces to the wearer.
6. The bishops, Ava Maria University, and Franciscan University have all take stands re. Obamba Care. Support them by showing to the world you too are a Catholic.
7. Seeing the medal around your neck might cause a person to stop and think, might make him realize many do not believe God is dead, and that there are Catholics who aren't afraid of the secular world to show who they are and in what they believe.
Would be interesting to post what results one has encountered wearing a medal.
Let's fight the good fight!

I regularly wear a rosary (under my shirt) and have worn a medal of Saint Ignatius of Loyola often in the past, only a few have taken notice let alone cared enough to inquire further. I recently obtained a medal of Saint Thérèse of of Lisieux which I need to get a necklace chain for and I have a Miraculous Medal somewhere. I 100% agree with and support this practice, thanks for posting and keep up the good work!

Re: Wear a Medal & Show you are a Catholic
I've had four compliments from strangers on the medal. A number of friends have complimented on it. One has asked me to find her one like it. I've caught a couple of people looking at it who aren't Catholic and a JW who I know is curious but hasn't asked....yet
Our Church gift shop keeps a basket for used medals and rosaries. I take the Miraculous medals and, when an occassion arises, given them out. Two are Protestants who are fighting cancer. One wore it for two years while fighting the disease. The other has it pinned to her pillow.
I have complimented strangers on their medals which immediately opened the door to a deeper communication.

I wear a miraculous medal and a crucifix 24/7, they never leave me. And most times it is on the outside of my clothing for all to see.
The sacramental blessing does say " and all who look upon it will be blessed"!

Bear the Cross in all you do and there will be no question as to whom you belong.

Important point - the contraception mandate is not, to the best of my knowledge, in the health care act, but rather an interpretation of that act and EEOC precedent by the HHS.
